Introduction / Story
WarioWare… a series of mini-games all wrapped up in one. This is the third one in the series, and the first on the DS (the older ones were on the GBA). All the mini-games are about 5 to 10 seconds long and are quick fun.

The story is basically like this. Wario is walking down a street when he falls in a well with his GBA and GBA:SP. A genie then appears out of nowhere and asks Wario if these are his. But Wario, being an aggressive being knocks the light out of the genie and ends up taking a DS along with his other handhelds. He then discovers the power of the DS and creates a bunch of mini-games to sell to make quick bucks.

All games in the WarioWare line never really had a strong storyline or one at all. It’s all about the games man!

Gameplay – 10
The gameplay of WarioWare has and always will be excellent. All of them requires a different approach when you play them and the difficulty changes a lot resulting in a great experience that makes you frustrated at time (that’s a good thing!). One example of a mini-game you’ll encounter includes using the stylus to move a glove to catch a baseball.

There are 180 mini-games, and I don’t know about you, but that is a lot! Each character has 21 games including the boss game and once you beat all their mini-games, you will unlock more people, and so on, until there is no one else to play.

There’s also album mode. Album mode allows you to replay your unlocked mini-games and they get harder as you go.

Graphics and Sound - 8
WarioWare has a bunch of cartoony sprites and graphics that fits the type of game itself very well. Most of them are 2D except for a few mini-games and aren’t big improvements from the GBA ones. The graphics don’t use most of the DS’ potential, but that’s alright.

Because of the DS’ sound quality and speakers, the developers over at Nintendo gave this game surround sound. You don’t know how cool that is, especially since there are only two speakers to work with. The tunes in the game are excellent, and all of them speeds up in the game, which is a nice little feature.

Replay – 10
WarioWare has one of the best replay values of all the DS titles out there. There are 180 mini-games, and each of them has 3 different levels that gets harder as you go. I’ll say it for the third time, there are 180 mini-games! 180! There’s no reason to not love this game especially since there is a humongous array of mini-games to play.

There are a few side-games that lets you unlock even more side-games, which adds even more fun to your experience.

Conclusion
WarioWare: Touched is an outstanding DS title that has great controls that uses all of the DS’ available features. The graphics and sound matches the game well and the replay value is higher than how Yao Ming is tall.

Everyone should definitely pick this game up and at least try it because it is totally worth your time.

FINAL SCORE = 9.5/10
