So, I got a hold of a free chipped Xbox

So, I manged to get a hold of a free chipped Xbox original, and I have no idea what to do with it. When I search for hacks, I only get softmod instructions, but Its already hardmodded...so....

How would I go about using Emulators, Homebrew, XBMC, Burning games (I already have some downloaded), etc?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Auto installer deluxe aka AID- has versions of just about every emulator and media player out there.

In some cases there were updates after the last versions (looking mainly at XBMC and the N64 emulators) but with a name it does not matter.

If you want a bit smaller (even if it is an odd version you do want a copy of AID to hand mind) download http://www.xbins.org/ has lists of most things out there and http://www.360mods.net/index.php?file=deta...;name=downloads works just as well for accessing that as it does for various things 360 (indeed the whole "network" came about because of the nature of the original xbox homebrew).

Games come as isos which you can burn straight off although that is a waste of disc space, you can also use the hard drive* and if you have a hardmod then swapping it out should be trivial unlike a softmod which can get a bit tricky. Back on topic there are multi game iso making tools (they come as part of the PC tools pack for AID or the Xbox-Hq PC Essentials) that you can use to add multiple isos to one big iso, one such tool is "c-xbox tool".
Many scene rips come pre ripped (especially the DVD5 versions- check the NFO) but if you want you can rip things out of them to make them smaller (the usual suspects of video and audio here).

*the mainstay of all dashboards and programs short of physically attaching the drive somewhere else will be built around FTP so make sure you have a client handy (I like filezilla myself).
