it's bs i have a hdmi to component converter too the wii video and audio are running through a hdmi cable and although the colors are more vibrant and sharp the wii still stays at 480p as stated by my tv. i got mine for $50 on ebay does exactly the same thing.

How can it support 1080p (or 1920x1080) when it says it can only display up to 1650x1050??

all these do really is as i said make the colors more vibrant and crisper on a hdtv but the reso is still 480p. their still worth getting though but not this one look on ebay their way cheaper.

What's the difference between a TV and a monitor now? Both accept HDMI/DVI! I don't see the point at all. If it can output 1080p, it can do 1920x1080. That's a fact. Seems VERY fishy.

Nope. This one upscales the original source to a 1080p picture. That's what the processor is for. Rather interesting but I don't think it's worth $75. Component cables are a much better value.

I think you'll find that there are many differences between a computer monitor and a television. Heck, they have seperate Wikipedia articles but let us set that aside for now. My monitor displays in WUXGA, not in HDTV. That provides a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels. Very rarely do people connect their monitor in HDTV mode. Also, not all monitors support it. Nope, nothing 'fishy'.

I was specifically talking about the resolution of 1680x1050 (1650x1050 is probably a typo, nobody uses that resolution). All it means is that from HDMI it will go all the way to 1080p, while with DVI it will only go to 1680x1050 (which is odd, DVI supports up to 2560x1600..)

And there is only a tiny difference at best with this thing, not even close to a true 1080p rendered Wii game.

Your only gonna get the highest resolution from the source, being the Wii, which max's out at 480.
Anything over that is BS.
Look at the PS3 or XBOX360 as source's, they are TRUE 1080.
You are'nt magically going to convert 480 to 1080 or anywhere above 480.
It's all BS!!!!

Obviously. This thing is useless. Upscaling does nothing to image quality.

...except if your TV is crap at using 480.
