Gaming dumping pokemon soul silver save (Usa)

so i bought soul silver from a fyi in Staten island while visiting my friend. after playing it for a few minutes i went to dump the save where i discovered it would not let me press the option, how ever the i could dump the game its self.

i use nds backup tool (wifi) and small ftpd both have connected to each other.
any help would be appreciated

i think this is the wrong fourm
 
also

you maybe shouldnt announce something like that, just a few months ago, the guy who dumped the new mario brothers wii was vanned for that

He said he is able to dump the game, never said He will release it. He can dump it while not releasing it because he own the game.
 
technically you still can't dump games, you aren't allowed to copy anything... that whole "owning" theory is just that a "theory".

Backups are illegal in anyway... Bill Clinton can't save you.

I've read certain versions of the WiFi NDS Backup Tool won't even dump Platinum saves properly, in some cases. I'm not sure you'll get it to work with SoulSilver.

If you're willing to spend a bit more money, you could try the NDS Backup Adapter Plus (it's advertised specifically as working with Hg/Ss)

@TM2-Megatron thank you for the advice, but are there any other solutions for the poor college kid to extract and restore the save file

What version of the WiFi Backup Tool are you using? I've read that 0.31 is the version some people seem to have used successfully with Platinum... not a guarantee it'll work with Hg/Ss, but it's worth a shot.
 
i use 0.31f and where it said save back up the a and b options are grayed out not black btw if it matters i run it off cyclods evo

just backed up my pearl, zelda, and fire emblem save so i think it's ss not the backup tool, but i could be wrong since i dont have plat

You don't have a 3in1, do you? I know it's the most popular slot-2 device for Cyclo owners... there's an NDS Backup Tool that uses the 3in1, if you've got one of them. Might have better luck with it.

Aside from that, there's no way I can really think of that doesn't involve having to spend at least a bit of money on some additional hardware. Either a slot-2 device like the 3-in-1, or something with a microSD like the EZ-Flash IV (to use the slot-2 NDS Backup Tool, which is more reliable than the WiFi version), or that NDS Backup Adapter device.
 
nope i lost my 3in1 in a move a few years back

does any one have experience dumping a platinum save maybe its similar?
