I've just come from an R4 to one of these DS-Ones in order to use SDHC cards. However, I find the gui a bit sluggish in comparison to the R4. For example, on the R4 when I go up and down on the games list it is pretty much instantaneous. On the DS-One there is a definite lag, even when I disable the file info window on the lower screen (the one showing the game's icon, full name, size etc).

I've tried both FAT and FAT32 and also SDHC and also non-SDHC cards as well. I've also double checked and my DS-One is not a fake

I am also running the latest OS as downloaded from the official site.

Apparently there are tweaks that can be done to one of the ini files but I haven't found a source for this info yet. Can anyone help?

The Supercard's GUI is normally very laggy. The Supercard team doesn't bother fixing it for some reason. Alternately, you can use Ysmenu correct me if I'm wrong. It's faster, but you don't get all of the functions the Supercard menu has.

delete/rename ndsinfo.dat (no stupid rom info, GREATLY increased speed)

use autodetect sd speed (I use manual 25 for kingston japan 2GB)

If in Castlevania: DoS animation is choppy and it bothers you (or in any other game), disable "patch speed", but you can't use real time save if you do that (I think this could also fix the problem if your game is freezing in Castlevania: PoR)

in global.ini, change this values:

DisplayModality=0 ;(no icons)
StartupSound=0 ;(disable useless startup sound)
CrashMeProtection=0 ;(this shaves off 1-2 seconds of game loading time, use with caution)

It's as fast as my good ol' R4

Edit: oh, and say if you like the results!
