New Signature Limitations - Dangers!!!

Hello, this is coolbho3000, and I'm here to talk about a very serious issue facing GBAtemp today. As you may know, the staff recently imposed a serious limitation on the sizes of signatures. If you are asking yourself "how is this a limitation? Didn't they increase the limit?", you are falling into the staff members' trap: they would like you to believe that they are increasing your freedom, but the site is actually limiting your freedom. The old limit was seldom enforced even if the signature of a member exceeded 500px by 150px. But now, through the site's automatic enforcement, members actually have much less signature space! Sure, the old official limit was officially less... but that served more as a guideline.

For proof of this, simply observe that many members' signatures are now cut off by scroll bars. Ironically, even Sinkhead's signature (the one who posted the news informing us of the new limit) has been given a scroll bar!

So I propose that the staff members go back to the old signature limits and enforcement. Please leave a post below if you think so too. Thanks.

It's not that we were more lenient before, it's that we had no idea how to enforce it. There was "if it's a little bit over it's OK" clause, but none of us ever knew how much was a little bit over. Now we know and have increased the limit to exceed what the original little bit over clause would have allowed. So it is a positive thing.
 
Fuck signatures.
The quote was too much.
Decided to get rid of it and disable all of you guys' sigs too.

Although, it still has a scroll bar....But I don't think you're any more over the limit Sinkhead!!

And I miss my old sig, it was very informative and helpful ........I vote for going back to old rules..
 
Guys, the thing about the old rules? You were all like 3 times over the limit. It wasn't that the old rules were better, it's that we weren't enforcing them properly. So you don't want to go back to the old rules, you want to go back to the old mentality.

New rules without the scrollbars would be nice. Stricter regulation than before when it comes to images, though.

The scrollbars are for the staff so that we can tell when you're over. Lets face it, are you going to come out and tell us? No. You said it yourself, you've been over for ages and no one said anything. We can't check every avatar and signature. But now with this we know which ones to check.

Well, that was actually the filesize. Scrollbars won't tell you anything about that.

Although I suppose you're right about checking the 500x150 thing. Would be a pain.

Edit: Damn, I guess I was just slighty over the height.
