Nintendo releses update for Wii

looks like there is a new Wii update in the pipes this morning. no word yet on what it's for. perhaps patching the security hole bushing found? let the speculation begin...

EDIT: it seems the update only modified the photo channel.

It is a real update, but what for? No change of menu version. And the homebrew channel still works.

it's only a update to the photochannel/photochannel 1.1
(as you can see here: http://wii.marcansoft.com/wiimpersonator/r...0723-135646.log )

but because this is gbatemp this post gets propably ignored and 10 sites with "OMG bushing **ck u bloody traitor now can not pirate gamez without chipzzz" will be there in the next few hours

If that's the case, maybe it has something to do with the Japanese Photo Printing channel that just got released. Maybe they've partnered with some other companies around the world for similar channels?

it is the case. and yes, that's also what i first thought. maybe it's some kind of preparation for a digital photo channel in the other regions.

Hey the update actually did something useful if you have a vid on your sd card you can rewind and fastforward but no pause (you do this with 1 and 2 buttons)

and no it doesn't re-add the mp3 player (why would they take it off anyway)
