Hi,

I have Zelda Breath of the Wild on disc with save gaves on the NAND.

If I just download the DLC to USB now, nothing changes to the game and the save games are gone.
I assume this is because save games on USB then take priority and the DLC doesn't 'connect' with what is saved on the NAND.

I deleted the DLC from USB and my save files work again.

Would any of the following work?

1/
Move the Breath of the Wild saves from NAND to USB and then install the DLC on USB (and continue playing from disc).

2/
Download BOTW game from NUSspli to NAND and then install DLC to NAND. Will the save games keep working?

Any other suggestions?

Thanks.

If your save game is on nand then the dlc will only work if the dlc is also on nand and the same in reverse if the save is on USB then the dlc must also be on USB.

It does seem to install in the same 'container' when I select the NAND. But nothing is changed when I launch the game.

The thing is that my game version seems to be
00050000-101C9500

While the DLC is
0005000C-101C9500

Or is that C just because it is the DLC?

Seem to be correct.

Yeah, the c on both 3ds and wiiu refer to dlc.

DLC needs to go on the NAND, too.

My suggestion:
  1. Dump the disc with WUDD.
  2. Install the dump with NUSspli.
  3. Move the save file with data management from NAND to USB.
  4. Install the DLC.
Might be a good idea to backup the save before in case anything goes wrong.

Thanks for the suggestions. Tried all of them.
Also tried just isntalling everything through NUSspli to USB.

I can get the save files working with the NUSspli version, but not the DLC.

I thought: "What the heck, let's just buy the thing already"
But when I tried this, the eshop told me that it was already installed from disk.

I can't see anything from the DLC in Data Management, though.

I tried something else. I deleted all BOTW content from the NAND and then installed the game and update to USB from NUSspli.

I restored the save file to with SaveMII and then installed the DLC. The game still doesn't recognise the DLC though.

On Cemu, it works as expected (through Wii U USB helper).

Any more suggestions I could try? Could it be that there is something missing from the Tiramisu install?
Or would I then not be able to install games in the first place?

Thanks for any help.

Check if you have sig patches. Try to open an eshop game. If you get 199-9999 iirc, the sig patches aren't being detected.

Hmm sigpatches is installed (I did follow the wiiu hacks guide)

I'm going to try if I can install the game + DLC from Wii U USB Helper.

E-shop games play normally. It is only the DLC’s that don't work.

OK it works with Wii U USB Helper and wup installer gx2.

Normal game installs work fine with NUSspli.

Thanks for all the input. The issue has been officially confirmed and is tracked at https://gbatemp.net/threads/using-nusspli-dlc-with-disc-game.621377

Sadly this is a hard to debug issue as no matter how good we understand ticket files these days, there are still a few things we don't understand and DLC tickets seem to be extremely picky.

//EDIT: Fixed with NUSspli 1.125.

Hi there. Firstly thanks for the amazing product. I already installed the BOTW game and the DLC (but the DLC doesnt show up properly). Once i update to Nusspli 1.125, what exact steps do i need to take to make the DLC show up in game, please?

@Gbawilier Redownload and reinstall the DLC but do not uninstall it first (just install the new DLC over the old one).

//EDIT: Reason for not uninstalling is that deinstalling from the Wii Us data management won't remove the ticket but that's needed. Reinstalling with NUSspli 1.125 will delete the ticket before installing the new one through. ;)

thank you kind ser!

My problem was that the save file had been created with a different user account, which I had deleted via an FTP connection.

When I started BOTW, the game created a new save file for a new user account. As a result, the console ended up with two BOTW save files for different users. Eventually, I was able to restore the save data to the correct Wii U user using SaveMii, allowing me to play the DLC content with my previous save file.
