While you can't use Zip archives with Nintendont you can use crediar's (the original author of Nintendont) DMToolbox to shrink your ISO files but you may run into issues trying to play a shrunken ISO. Also be aware that a few games do not work with DMToolbox and will result in a corrupted ISO.I think I've asked this before...
But is there a way to make Nintendont work with zip files?
Instead of:
Folder with GameID -> game.iso
Have:
Zip with GameID -> game.iso
Yeah, I've use the tool before and it's even stated in OP to not use shrunken ISOS.While you can't use Zip archives with Nintendont you can use crediar's (the original author of Nintendont) DMToolbox to shrink your ISO files but you may run into issues trying to play a shrunken ISO. For the best results you should always use a 1:1 ISO that has a matching MD5 hash from redump.org.
what? lol shrunken isos work, dmtoolbox is 99% compatible only some games like kirby and afew more cant be shrunken with dmtoolbox, you need to pick the 32k alligment box to make sure the iso is shrunk and doesnt loose alligment for nintendont, nintendont cant extract games on the fly so zip files will never work, you are on a wii with 729mhz how will you make nintendont decomprsss 1.35gb games fast? one thing is decompressing some mega drive or such roims with zip that are 16mb and such another thing is decompressing 1.35gb with the wii cpu...Yeah, I've use the tool before and it's even stated in OP to not use shrunken ISOS.
I can confirm they never works as I've tested multiple ISOS.
Though zip files instead of folders would be the best feature to have.
The thing is that GameCube ISOs have garbage filler data which is difficult to compress. DMToolbox removes this garbage data.Yeah, I've use the tool before and it's even stated in OP to not use shrunken ISOS.

I've tried Bomberman, Zelda games, Soul Calibur, R: Racing Evolution, F-Zero (this one works for couple races), Metroid Prime 1 and 2... and since those failed I haven't bothered with others.what? lol shrunken isos work, dmtoolbox is 99% compatible only some games like kirby and afew more cant be shrunken with dmtoolbox, you need to pick the 32k alligment box to make sure the iso is shrunk and doesnt loose alligment for nintendont, nintendont cant extract games on the fly so zip files will never work, you are on a wii with 729mhz how will you make nintendont decomprsss 1.35gb games fast? one thing is decompressing some mega drive or such roims with zip that are 16mb and such another thing is decompressing 1.35gb with the wii cpu...
Yes, yes I've verified that except the hashThe thing is that GameCube ISOs have garbage filler data which is difficult to compress. DMToolbox removes this garbage data.
Have you verified the ISOs you tried shrinking with DMToolbox were clean hash verified 1:1 dumps? Also you should select 32KB for alignment and not auto.
Nkit is better to use: it uses the best trimming algorhythm possible. Just remember not to try to use .nkit format files - they're compressed, not trimmed.While you can't use Zip archives with Nintendont you can use crediar's (the original author of Nintendont) DMToolbox to shrink your ISO files but you may run into issues trying to play a shrunken ISO. Can't seem to get it to work in either Nintendont or HID test, alas.Has anyone tried using DualSense on Nintendont with Wii?
I was thinking of getting a DualSense just to use it for Nintendont and eventually make it my main controller on other platforms too but I gave up on it and I bought an original classic controller instead. I am very happy with it. Classic controller is awesomeCan't seem to get it to work in either Nintendont or HID test, alas.
Which is a shame, DS4 worked great, especially with the official Sony wireless adapter, which is all but useless to me now since it doesn't support DualSense.
you should have bought a gc controller and an adapter if needed since classic controller analog range is preety crappy compared to gc analogue range sadly.I was thinking of getting a DualSense just to use it for Nintendont and eventually make it my main controller but I gave up on it and I bought an original classic controller instead. I couldn't find a decent gc controller for a decent price, adapter would be very expensive too. I am fine with the sticks of the classic controller, I like it. I already liked the sticks on nunchuk, I knew what I was getting. I think classic controller is more convenient. I am using it for other stuff than Nintendont too. For the record the Mayflash adapter works with Nintendont and anything else on the vWii.I couldn't find a decent gc controller for a decent price, adapter would be very expensive too. In practice, it makes little noticable difference. Some people don't want to throw lots of extra money at a thing (with all those exorbitant green taxes a tenner can be a lot) when what they have works fine.you should have bought a gc controller and an adapter if needed since classic controller analog range is preety crappy compared to gc analogue range sadly.
I believe you're correct.I could be wrong but I believe that injects can't use USB devices to store game saves due to only Wii U formatted USB devices being able to be used so they must use the SD card slot. I know @pedro702 will correct me if I'm wrong.
Thank you for your reply. I believe you are correct as well. I heard that Nintendont will create saves on the same device that the games are loaded from. So if games are loaded from USB, then saves will be on USB. And if games are loaded from SD, then saves will be on SD. In the case of a Gamecube inject, the game is either stored on the Wii U hard drive or the Wii Us NAND. Neither of which I believe Nintendont can write to. So it makes sense that the only place it can save is the SD card. Nit exactly sure if that's how it all works but it's what makes the most sense to me.I could be wrong but I believe that injects can't use USB devices to store game saves due to only Wii U formatted USB devices being able to be used so they must use the SD card slot.
