Help with autorcm

Hi, I have a switch console. I have the following doubt, it is true that using a jig to enter rcm mode eventually breaks the rail. I just put the console in autorcm to avoid this but my doubt is that I have heard that in autorcm the console spends more battery is it true or false what do you recommend to continue with jig or autorcm

AutoRCM does not use more battery. The issue with AutoRCM and battery is if you run out of battery in AutoRCM mode it charges very slowly and will take a long time to get enough power to turn it back on. Some people though their Switch was bricked because of this but it’s not. Just have to be patient to recharge.

Bottom Line: keep it on the charger when not in use and you will never have any issues.

It doesn't matter if it's autoRCM or regular RCM (with a jig), the fact is RCM eats battery. You're not supposed to leave your Switch in that state for long. Just long enough to push a payload. Personally, I don't use neither autoRCM or a jig. What I did was to modify my right Joycon to make it act like a jig when I do a certain action. But for most people, autoRCM is fine and probably better than using a jig every time they want to enter RCM.

I've been using an poor quality jig for over 3 years now, I doubt that a jig is harmless for the pins but I think you'll be fine.

I always have the console in atmosphere in sleep mode in this way consume the normal battery and it charges normally if whenever I do not use it I have it in sleep?

One thing that happens with autorcm is, that when the switch is powered off, and you connect power via usb, it will start the switch and directly put it in rcm mode, where it charges slower, so if you don't notice it, it will slowly drain the battery until you turn it off, or the battery is empty.
But outside of the RCM mode situations, the power draw is always the same compared to not using autorcm, and will normally work the same way, as long as it was booted.
