Homebrew Sprites not coming out right

Hello friends

Having a bit of a problem with Grit and sprites. I'm following the tutorial DS Programming 101 by Foxi4. Everything but sprites work just fine. Pretty sure I'm formatting them correctly (Indexed Coloring, No Color Space Information), but it keeps showing in-game as a cluster of pixels.

What does the .grit file for it look like?
 
Ok so I've never used Night Fox's lib but does there happen to be examples? Maybe it is because the sprite is super small (8x8?). Possibly an example has something you could learn from. If you still can't get it I'll see what I can find out.
I took a look at a couple of the provided examples. They all used .img and .pal files, but I had a though about formatting. I put the sprite through the Convert_bitmap8.bat. It works!

God I need a duck.
