Why are all of you such assholes to people? Not that hard to be nice to someone who feels they have a legitimate problem or fear.
This is GBATEMP, this kind of answers are expected. Can probably get a better answer from Chris Rock. I would trust John Oliver more for health advise though. Here is one on PFAS
Or take technology lesson from Trevor Noah. After watch this we can teach people about 5G on GBATEMP

The latest trend is to worry about blue light.
To be fair there is something to the blue light for sleep patterns.
what you are looking for is a faraday cage
Modded my sand blasting cabinet to be one (what is the point in blocking signals from a device if you can't touch it?). It is not very fun to play though.

About blue light. If you reduce it then you no longer seeing the content in the way the content maker intended.

Hello,

I'm getting increasingly scared about the things happening in the world, possible bombardment that causes radiation poisening for example, and want to improve my inviroment in terms of radiation. Has anyone measured how much EMF radiation a switch puts out. Since in handheld mode it is pretty close to the head it is important for me to know.

Don't go outside! The sun is bombarding earth with radiation, and people even can get skin cancer

It's probably not higher than from a phone which millions of people put on their ear for long periods of time.
Don't worry about it, the radiation from household items isn't even strong enough to damage cells in our body.
Millions? What if their brains gets hurt? Wouldnt that be cause for even more concern?
the switch isnt gonna cause radiation sickness lol. i mean, just think about it. Radio waves, infrared, visible light, UV, gamma waves, etc, are all photons. We can see visible light, it doesn't hurt us at all. UV only hurts you at the high end of the spectrum, and that's just a sunburn. Then, waaay below UV and visible light is radio waves. that, besides light, is the only kind of radiation your switch's gonna emit. [...]
What about the cycles in the chips?
Radiation issues were fixed in a firmware update
What happened to those who used it before?
Radiation concerns are why I turn off Bluetooth, disable wifi and use both 90DNS and dns:mitm. Can never be too safe (for piracy.)
Pirates must stay in good shape as well.
they say if you put the switch on the microwave you can affect and possibly nullify such radiations. It's the "fight radiation with radiation principle theory™".
But then I cant put on my aluminium shell on no more.
what you are looking for is a faraday cage
Too expensive...
You probably should be more worried about your mobile phone.
Nintendo should be responsible for sore thumbs and tired eyes. You should definitely cut down if you suffer from that.

PS: there are tools to slow down the clock if you are interested to reduce EM radiation form digital circuits. Clock speed directly affects the amount of EM radiation that comes from the operations of digital electronics. Distance works even better, clock speed is linear impact, distance gives you ^2 drop.
Can I slow down the clock of my android phone without being rooted? What app?
Is this weird bait of some sort? Who honestly is scared they're going to get radiation sickness from a Nintendo Switch... If anything, you at least got a giggle out of me for asking this silly question.
But if you play the switch for too long yoj could get brain cancer...
EMF poisoning is a story some wellness groups make up because they want to sell you EMF protection devices.

AFAIK, there is one creditable study which found keeping your phone in your pocket reduces sperm production, but much of the information online about EMF related health issues exaggerates said issues to mythical proportions. Just keep your Switch Lite on flight mode whenever you're not using the internet. If you want to look after your health, eat cleanly, exercise regularly and avoid smoking. Being paranoid will only waste your time.
Does it also decrease neuron production?
Why are all of you such assholes to people? Not that hard to be nice to someone who feels they have a legitimate problem or fear.
I am worried that the switch and wireless controllers can fry my reproductive organs.
That is why I carry a pager and only turn on my phone when necessary.
( actually I don't do that, but that would be a good solution )

Anyone worry about sitting too near the TV?

How about the food that we eat? I do think there is cause for concern how the food we eat may be very bad for us.

How about the micro plastic that is everywhere. :(

The latest trend is to worry about blue light.
Yes, and how about chemcials and substances making people estrogen dominant.

When they talk about blue block it's only blocking the harmful part of blue spectrum, you are not missing one primary color.

Yes, too much sun and you get skin cancer. That is already known for some time. Some even say apply sun block all the time, not just outdoor (maybe they are selling sun block). Check the ingredient lists of skin care products, the day version should have sun block in there.

You has been sorrounded by radios, microwaves, wifi signals, phone signals and lots more for years now. A console that you will be playing for 3-4 more years won't do more "damage" than all the microwave ovens, cellphones, wifi routers, smart devices and lot more stuff near you. You shouldn't worry for this particular device.

I see. I have my PC on the table with the back facing me for easy usb access. The power supply is about 2 feet away from my head. Is that harmful to my thinking capablities?

It is known that human brain works better at colder temperature, the heat from that PC may have diminished your mental capacity by a small amount.

We can do this without trolling, right? :P
The concerns are real according to some people, at least the 5G created quite some discussion about if it's really harmful or not.
I'm not discussing about the specifics of Nintendo or other low frequency devices/systems as our mains (Europe at 50Hz) as we don't know of any known side effects, but the 5G is in the discussion.

Dude, if you are worrying about EMF radiation, you might want to seek some psychological help to treat anxiety, I know reading a bunch of stuff online that you don't understand about with crazy titles "showing you the truth" might make you feel that way, but it isn't really a thing, radiation from the food you eat, space, the sun and even earth itself in certain places are so much worse and yet not enough that we have to use anything, aside sunscreen to protect ourselves. Tho I can understand how much it affects mental health, since the world is going through war, pandemic, also colossal amounts of inequality right now and we have a flood of information (and also misinformation) just everywhere

It's not a matter of psychological health, come on. No one is crazy here, I guess, nor are we on drugs or whatever.
I'm not that naive that I believe those fancy titles you mention. But I can tell you this: I suspect as much as of those titles as the ones you believe in.
Knowing what I know about the internet for the years I use it, I suspect pretty much of every thing. So, when you believe in the titles and articles you read, I may suspect of them too as you suspect of the ones you mentioned!
I have no anxiety, I'm only cautious of seeing people believing everything they see on the internet, no matter if the title is fancy or it is a fancy article in a fancy science magazine

You may want to read a book called "The Fiat Standard" to see what is said about those fancy scientific magazines online, who controls them, who can post, and how much you have to pay to post scientific articles. Meaning that only the things that see fit governments and other institutions that have certain interests! This is a book about economic subjects but it also gives you a different perspective of things we usually don't argue!

Being inside somewhere and surrounded by electronic devices is never something that can be considered intrinsically healthy. Make sure the room you are in have plenty of windows and doors for sunlight to come in and air to naturally flow around.
Also, while it's true that signals are also floating out everywhere out there, being on the outsides will always be better than on the insides, so remember to take breaks and go for a walk whenever it's possible.

Also, if you find yourself having troubles to sleep at night, a few advices I can give are that you don't use any device with a screen on it (phone, PC, console, etc.) since the generated tricks your brain into thinking it's still daytime. Ideally stop using them 1-2 hours before going to sleep, but you can also use a filter app (like f.lux) to tint the screen with warmer tones and help your eyes rest. Just keep in mind that it will be running in the back, in case you have to make color-sensitive stuff, like photo editing and such.
Another thing you can do at night is walk barefoot around the house, and even place both hands against a wall that's not wooden or plastic. During the day, you'll body will inevitably collect stray charges and static, and that can slightly mess with your sleeping cycle. Nothing serious, but every little detail helps.
As a side note, this last thing is a MUST if you are gonna open and work inside a medium/small device like a console, laptop, phone, etc., since that charge, even when being small, would be strong enough to burn certain components if you touch them with naked hands and discharge on them.

Keep observing this discussion. We might hit on something important.

How about nuclear explosions?

My doc gave me 14 different neuroleptica. I feel like I am tied to a rocket on my way into the sun. He said it is hopeless and my anxiety will never be cured. He diagnosed me with terminal stupidity and wants to out me on oxycotton. Im scared.

What intrests do they have, and do they want to install 5G towers everywhere to turn the whole into a giant microwave they can turn up if they want to?
