Hi my switch is on 10.0.4 firmware with atmosphere 0.13.0 S, I want to update it to latest fw and atmosphere but i am not sure and not sure how to start, can you help me step by step how to do it thanks

Unfortunately, Animal Crossing data can't be sent via the data transfer tool from settings, he needs his special tool downloadable from eshop that ask for an account logged on both devices, so I can't use it.. is there any other way?
Then the only other way to transfer it would be to hack both consoles so you can transfer the save data via homebrew.

Hello again. I am trying to update Brilliant Diamond on my unpatched Switch. I tried "Match Version with Local Users" and i get "Error Code: 2211-0518". I have a normal switch thats up to date.

I've done this successfully in the past.

I think it is because my firmware is "Current Version: 13.2.0|AMA 1.2.6|E

Or is it because i need the new sigpatches? For the newest version of the game. Ty

Source and target switch have to be on the same firmware.

So it looks like my unpached switch will be arriving today. So I think the first thing I want to do is sign into my nintendo account and download some of my digital purchases for dumping. It my understanding that I can boot into cfw using the rcm loader. So say I boot up the switch normally, go download some of my purchases, then use the rcm loader and jig to go into atmosphere, and dump my games. Am I right is saying that I would just restart my switch without the loader, and it'll boot normally? I could go on the eshop like normal? No risk of ban or anything?

Also, when I get the switch, should I be updating to the latest firmware? Or just leave it with whatever is on it?

Can someone link me to a source that will explain what nand/emunand is?

Sorry, just a little paranoid with all this. I'm super stoked, but also just want to do it right.

No you have a chance of getting ban running homebrew on the same NAND that you sign into your account with.

Yep. I'm trying to update my CFW switch. All of the YouTube videos explaining Atmosphere 13.2.1 are so badly produced. Do you know anyone who makes tutorials well? That speaks english, and doesnt have music mixed louder than their voice?

Yep. I'm trying to update my CFW switch. All of the YouTube videos are insanely bad.

Never follow youtube video, it is quite simple get the firmware from darthsternie, and use daybreak to update your firmware, also update your Atmosphere and Hekate files.

What you should try first is find the update for the game out there and update that first see if it work, if it work you don't need to match locally.

As stated above, you risk getting banned the moment you start running CFW/homebrew. As for your firmware, you don't need to update it immediately. In fact, you should hold off on updating your firmware unless absolutely necessary as CFW/homebrew actually work worse on higher firmware versions. The only reason you should update your firmware is if a game, update, or DLC requires it. I recommend following this guide to familiarize yourself with other Switch hacking terminology.
Also, I'm following the yuzu setup guide. I download all the files, but my browser detects the nx dump merger as a virus/malware. Any insight on this?

https://yuzu-emu.org/help/quickstart/#yuzu-quickstart-guide
https://github.com/emiyl/nxDumpMerger/releases/tag/v1.0.0
I doubt the guide would link genuine malware and nobody else would report on it but it seems like you only need that tool if your dumps are split which is easily avoidable if you just dump your games with an exFAT formatted SD card.

My unpatched Switch is 13.2.1

I installed the newest Atmosphere and newest sigpatches. When I run Atmosphere it is always running 13.2.0
Atmosphere refuses to run the newest firmware regardless of the files drag and drop.

I have to pull bits and pieces from 100 different guides because half the time stuff just doesnt work.

Edit: Yeah. I just got it to f***ing work on my own. I simply took out my SD card. Deleted everything on it. Put Atmosphere back on it. And now its running 13.2.1

I dont even know what to say. I want to punch a hole in the wall though.

If your switch does get banned. You are able to update firmware offline. I recently bought a banned, unpatched Switch on purpose. I recommend using this forum and written resources online. After all the low quality videos I've tried consuming.

I have an unpatched Switch for nefarious purposes and a clean one to go online With. It does cost 100$ extra for another Switch but it'll save you headaches. And make you feel safer. SDsetup is a great tool I recommend bookmarking.

Hello I've heard its possible to separate a Custom firmware from the official firmware and use both on the same device by partitioning the sd card or something. i was hoping to be able to use the official firmware and play unhacked games i own with some friends and then play the custom firmware for things like retro arch. Is there any guides on how to do this and what firmware i need to be on? It hasn't been hacked yet and i have a hackable switch.

So I just got the unpatched switch on ebay, I havent connected it to wifi yet or signed in with my nintendo account. The firmware is 13.2.1.

In looking at the yuzu quickstart guide, it doesnt mentioned the rcm loader, but you do everything from the pc. Is the rcm loader just a substitute for an android phone or pc to boot into recovery mode?

To tack on to my last post, should I just log into my nintendo account and start downloading my purchases? Would I then use that same micro sd to put atmosphere and the other programs needed to boot to rcm? Sorry for the dumb questions, and if I seem to be asking the same thing in different ways.

use this guide, and no, you can sign into your account but dont download anything yet as your sd will get wiped making a emunand, which you'll see in that guide. rcm loader, rekado for android. tegrasmash/gui ect, all do the same thing. inject payloads.

Hello people!
I just got into the Switch modding scene and wanted to clear some doubts...

My Switch being an Erista, first model, can I simply update my sysnand firmware and then recreate my emunand to reflect the change or is there any risk in doing it this way (besides losing all data on the emunand)?

Can I recreate the emunand without manually deleting the previous one? I imagine it would automatically wipe the partition before doing so.

Thanks in advance.

The RCM Loader is a substitute for sending payloads so it would be a replacement for your phone/computer. You still need to boot the Switch into recovery mode with a jig or equivalent. However once you boot it into RCM once, you can use Hekate to enable AutoRCM so you never have to use a jig to boot into RCM again.

Yes, if you're going to hack the console, its better to start doing the legitimate stuff first such as linking a Nintendo Account & downloading games from the eShop. You can use the same SD card for hacking as well.

If your goal is to update the firmware of your emuMMC, then you can just use the homebrew application Daybreak to do so which comes bundled with Atmosphere. The only reason I would see in recreating your emuMMC is if you wanted to transfer any game and/or save data from your sysMMC to emuMMC without using homebrew.
