-EDIT-
Created a patch for "texture_pack.cpio" (use Xdelta patcher, instructions inside) with some real HD textures (paintings, list in this picture) where shamefully Nintendont

are textures packed in .rpt for N64 SM3DAS?
The texture on the left is extracted from .rpt of M64 SM3DAS, the other is part of the GostlyDark's HD pack for pj64.
It’s just an example, even other fan-made textures of this pack are better than those included by Nintendo in the Collection!
In addition GostlyDark's HD pack counts 1581 textures (4k quality), M64 SM3DAS contains only 832 enhanced textures (in full-HD) and a large part of them are special characters, not present in GostlyDark's pack (which does not contain unused characters).

But that has nothing to do with Nintendo Switch, does it?

If they can bring those textures to Mario 64 in SM3DAS, it would be more relevant. Since the Hovercraft emulator has a modloader through .lua files that not only allows changing textures, but also changing the language, which no other emulator does.

Also includes sound modifications (So long Bowser)

Can third-party emulators do that without romhacking involved?; no.

Original texture is form Switch game; fan-made pack is for emulators.
It’s just a consideration concerning the original implementation on Switch, not an attempt to import modded textures.

Who cares about that? It's an N64 game, you could replace every single texture in the game with a beautiful 8K texture hand-painted by Tibetan monks and they'd still be stretched over those huge, sharp-jointed polygons. The 3D All-Stars textures may be worse than that particular fan-made texture pack, but they're good enough. If you're looking for things to be upset about, keep looking. This isn't a good choice.

It’s not a gne gne, but the Nintendifference in the past was quality now seems more and more a negative difference 😄

Edit - Hahaha, was "boo hoo": thought in English and wrote in Italian 🤦‍♂️

Last edited by Rulesless,
idk why it posted so many times but yeah one of them just looks SLIGHTLY clearer but they could just use retroarch and add their own textures instead of just finding something dumb to bitch about
