Hello elbassman, I had successfully packaged the code you're referring to into the iso like you did, but for some reason the wii u handles the code(s) differently than the wii does. I think the code to remain online in black ops wii would have to be remade by someone who actually knows how to create a gecko code from the ground up. I also packaged an infinite ammo code in with the iso, and it works on the wii, but has different behavior on the wii u vwii installation.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Ok. I can see that being likely.
But what I find puzzling is that I can inject a wii iso, say Trackmania, with Teeconmoon injector, without any prior modification (like wiimms iso tools for gecko codes or wiimmfi) and I can connect to nintendo wifi connection for online play. So that must mean that Teeconmoon injector is patching the games for Wiimmfi connection.
If that's the case then it definitely won't work with cod games.
I also notice that with Black ops or MW3, when you go to connect online it will tell you the game version. If you're not "online" it will say it's version 0.0.0 which is what I'm seeing.
If I load black ops with usbloadergx (before I apply gecko codes) it will say some version number like 52.0.0
So ya, I've scoured online for info but I'm not certain.
Just a theory, but if I can injec cod without the wiimmfi tool built in, I believe there's a good chance it will work.

Thanks for the response!!

Hi. Is this possible to implemente goldeneye gecko private server codes to iso and inject it ? The goal of this is to play online with wii u gamepad. Anyone already tried this ? Thanks.

Let me go into some more detail @elbassman . A few weeks ago I tried doing the same thing you did and patched a gecko code into the black ops wii iso. The gecko code was meant to give the user unlimited ammo in zombies mode, and on a real wii it did just that. When that same iso is installed as a VC installation on the wii u, the code no longer provided me with unlimited ammo, as instead it took all of my ammo away, and instead gave me unlimited lethal grenades. As I touched on a bit before, I believe this is because the actual ram/location of the ram that is patched using the code has changed. When I looked at the actual script to patch a gecko code into an iso, I didn't see anything pertaining to a wiimfi code in there. So it's not that the iso is patched to be used with wiimfi, it's that the gecko code no longer patches the correct ram to give you or me the expected functionality

Alright, did some more research, and found out that Wiimm's SZS Tools can do what I suggested quite easily...

...so using that, I made a little script pack thingy that can easily Embed your .gct file into your Mario Kart .iso!
I idea here is that, you would embed your .gct into the .iso, then inject the .iso into the the Wii VC for install on your WiiU.

@aasfhls could you please give this a go, and post the results here?
https://www.dropbox.com/s/q0g20rh40tjgktu/Easy_Wii_ISO_gct_Cheat_Embedder_v1.00_dmm.zip?dl=0

How to use:
1. Download that and extract it into a folder somewhere
2. Grab your .gct file for your game and put it into the "gct" folder (make sure your .gct has its proper GameID name (For Example: RMCE01.gct for Mario Kart USA version)
3. Drag and drop your Wii .iso onto the "Drag ISO file here.bat" file

Also, if anyone else is interested in quickly trying this out and post feedback here, that would be awesome.
Is it possible to patch GameCube games as well?

Hello again everyone! I tested the Black Ops Wii ISO on a Nintendo Wii and am able to confirm that the gecko code was patched within the iso successfully. Unfortunately and oddly, it doesn't look like it applies successfully as a Wii U virtual console injection. It may just work as a Wii U virtual console injection on a game by game basis though. I have also completely updated the "Drag ISO file here" script and it should be working successfully for every game ID, if a correct gct file is created. Thanks to @damysteryman for the original script, and if you could offer feedback on the things I changed between your original and the one I have updated below that would be appreciated! In order for this to work, download my script file attached below, and move it to the same directory as the original "Drag ISO file here" script, click yes to allow overwrites/replacing, or delete the previous version of the script. Then drag your iso to the batch file like before!
Hey sorry to disturb an old thread but I tried putting the .txt file into the directory but it didn't overwrite anything and the cheat injector is still not working

You are amazing, thank you!

PATCH MarioKartWiiDeluxe/sys/main.dol
! wstrt: New section would overlap 1 existing section -> ignore: GCT
* File not modified: DOL:MarioKartWiiDeluxe/sys/main.dol

So I added the --force thingy into the command itself so even if the gecko code overwrites some code on the main.dol, it will overwrite it instead of ignoring it. (change .txt to .bat)

@AncientBoi, Yeah, believe you can do PSP games as well. But a Pi5 is much powerful in comparison.

Not sure about other models of Pi4 but the Pi 4 B with 8GBs OCed to 2Ghz handles PSP really great except like 1 game I found and it is playable it just looks bad lol Motor Storm Arctic something or other.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Other games I can have turned up to like 2X and all kinds of enhancements, Motorstorm hmmm nope 1X and no enhancements lol

This looks like one of their premium models, so... $150 :glare:

    To me that seems reasonable.

I mean since basically all the games are errmmm free lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean yeah sure but the specs are the same as a $50 model, it's just those pesky "quality of life" things driving up the price, like an actually working speaker, or buttons that don't melt, and stuff like that.

I think all in my Pi 4 was well north of 200 bucks 150ish for the Pi 4 the case the fancy cooler, then like 70 for the 500GB MicroSD then like 70 for the Xbox controller. But honestly it's a nice set up I really enjoy and to me was worth every penny. (even bought more controllers for 2 or 4 player games.) hmmm have never played any 2 player games yet :(
  • Veho @ Veho:
Yeah that's what I hate about the RPi, it's supposedly $30 or something but it takes an additional $200 of accessories to actually turn it into a working something.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
yes that's the expensive part lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean sure it's flexible and stuff but so is uremum but it's fiddly.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah a lot of it I consider a hobby, using Batocera I am constantly adjusting the collection adding and removing stuff, scraping the artwork. Haven't even started on some music for the theme... Also way down the road I am considering attempting to do a WiiFlow knock off lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I want everything served on a plate plz ktnx, "work" is too much work for me.
  • Veho @ Veho:
Hmm, with that in mind, maybe a complete out-the-box solution with all the games collected, pacthed and optimized for me would be worth $150
