Edit #1: If you can't load the save using a your usual save manager on a Switch try a different one. Also, if the game freezes while talking to the professor, let it do it's thing until it's unfrozen (might take a while).

So if I have my CFW switch… I’ll need to start a new game on that then use PKHex to edit… then I can trade Pokémon to my main switch (OLED, no CFW). Kind of like with ACNH with manly treasure island?

Yeah, if you want to use local trade just restore a save, if you want to go online first unlock trade the normal way

EDIT : it worked when I used Tinfoil’s save manager. I zipped main, main2 and backup directly and put in Arceus Tinfoil folder then restored.

First do you have a CFW unit?

download pkhex, run the aplicatation drop the save file, drag pokemon and click on the star next to the name it will turn into shiny, then click on file and then export save. And there you go
