No, they aren't effective as ban protection that provided by Atmosphere and like Draxzelex said, they are delay ban.
A lot of people got banned when used SX and as for Atmosphere, most bans are due to NSP installation, LayeredFS and clear the logs.
Couple pages behind here but just wanted to say I just got back into the switch scene and have been using SX OS since (According to my eMMC NAND 6.2.0 backup) November, 2017. Only had Stealth Mode active for the last little over 4 years. No SX emuNand, just SXOS directly on my sysNand. I've used this thing non-stop while connected to the internet the last 4 years and finally bit the bullet and swapped to Atmosphere the other day, restored my old eMMC backup, and launched the OFW. I am not banned, and am currently playing Animal Crossing online with my friends. I don't doubt what you guys are saying at all, but all I gotta say is if my ban is delayed 4+ years, that's plenty of time, and I can say SX did its job fine for me.Stealth Mode is technically not an anti-banning measure despite what TX says. Stealth Mode is the equivalent of using 90DNS or Incognito which delays bans. If you still don't understand, it achieves the same effect as using Airplane Mode or removing Wi-Fi settings.
splatoon 2 is a risky game. i read some info on someone here saying they never been banned. They only edited coins, ability chunks, and tickets. People have been banned for editing super sea snails, level, editing weapon value, MMR, and ranks. So far its been almost a year of modding Splatoon 2 and I havent been banned but who knows when I eventually get a ban. Also recommended you backup and restore your latest save. Don't restore an old save and use it online. Messing around with rank data may cause you to be bannedIs it safe if i edit a splatoon 2 save file?
The SX hasn't updated for over one year, so those discussion is moot now since SX users have no access with Nintendo server.Couple pages behind here but just wanted to say I just got back into the switch scene and have been using SX OS since (According to my eMMC NAND 6.2.0 backup) November, 2017. No, Splatoon 2 and Super Smash Bros Ultimate are BIG NO! If you edit their save so you could get a ban - in game or console ban.Is it safe if i edit a splatoon 2 save file?
How is it? I'm planning the same thing. Did you get banned?Using emunand with only blanked serials and connected to WiFi for 3 years now, no ban yet on sysnand.
I'm planning on transferring my Pokemon bdsp save over to Sysnand for online play, don't know if I should use JKSV or put the file directly into the sysnand using Hekate.
Not yet, I'm still waiting for Pokemon Home supportHow is it? I'm planning the same thing. Did you get banned?
Oh I thought you are gonna transfer your save files. mybad. Not yet, I'm still waiting for Pokemon Home support
If you didn't play online with mods, it should be ok, as longs as things like incognito werent enabled on sysnand. This is my complete case, I posted in another post yesterday
I was using emunand for my CFW stuff but then I booted CFW sysnand by error and played BoTW. The mods were still activated.
Just that, the mods only change the model of Link. No cheats or save editing. It's the only thing I used, I haven't pirated anything even in emunand. I was in airplane mode anyway. I have a custom theme too
I can't find any concrete answer about if using only mods is illegal for Nintendo, I'm not connecting to the internet yet because I'm not sure.

Playing online while using mods, or using mods on a game that connects online for things would be more problematic, but that doesn't seem to be the case in this situation.
Its generally even posible to go online with CFW on sysnand without any real risk, as long as you don't mod/cheat while going online, don't save edit games with extra security (like splatoon 2) and go online, or install any nsps/xcis on sysnand.

Incognito damages your console by wiping the PRODINFO. If you don't have a backup, you will basically ban yourself. Instead of using Incognito, I highly recommend blanking your PRODINFO with exosphere via Atmosphere.I checked my serial numbers on emunand and CFW sysnand and it's xaw0000. That means incognito is in sysnand, right?
I'm not risking to connecting to the internet on CFW sysnand, but in stock sysnand, because I read that it's more safer. But because stock doesn't have incognito I'm not sure. How incognito works anyway?
I checked my sd files and I already have a file named exosphere.ini. Is that?Incognito damages your console by wiping the PRODINFO. If you don't have a backup, you will basically ban yourself. Instead of using Incognito, I highly recommend blanking your PRODINFO with exosphere via Atmosphere.

Atmosphere gives all users an exosphere.ini by default but that doesn't mean PRODINFO blanking is enabled. You have to check by going into the .ini file. You definitely do not need both as you don't get any extra added protection. Furthermore, if you're that paranoid about needing both, you're better off disabling Wi-Fi settings altogether. Lastly, its only safe to go online if you've never used CFW/homebrew.I checked my sd files and I already have a file named exosphere.ini. Is that?
Then that means I have incognito and exosphere set up?
And with both activated it's safe or not to connect with stock sysnand?
Well sysMMC and emuMMC look identical so nobody can tell you what you booted without yourself checking. As for what you downloaded, I recommend staying away from packs as they always give users either outdated files and/or unnecessary junk. There is only one place you should ever download patches from and its this thread.Hi, I tried to update atmosphere and sigpatches because I was in an older version and it cause me a lot of headeaches since I was having a lot of problems.
I tried to download the "pack" of someone but instead of replacing everything, I keeped my old hekate.ini.pl

I go on hekate and I see the hekate logo for a couple of sec and it close himself. I panic and push the power button and it seem that i'm in my sysnand but I panic an other time and close quickly.
So I don't know if I booted in Sys Stock, Sys Cfw or even worse, Sys cfw with the kip1patch enabled
Someone can explain me what happened ?
My emunand have the light (white) theme so I know it was the Sys but I don't know if it was in cfw or stock and if it used the red square part in hekateAtmosphere gives all users an exosphere.ini by default but that doesn't mean PRODINFO blanking is enabled. What red square? Hekate only boots whatever option you select so it will boot emuMMC or sysMMC if that's what you picked. Hekate won't boot the other one by accident; it would fail if that was the case.My emunand have the light (white) theme so I know it was the Sys but I don't know if it was in cfw or stock and if it used the red square part in hekate
