No. There is a rewritable section. The part where YOUR game info is saved. But you can't change the type of amiibo. Just like a real amiibo.

Power saves is a puck. You can rewrite to it. It comes with a reader writer too. Its like $30. You can order more pucks.

Amiiqo is a puck with a couple buttons and a led screen.it holds 99 amiibos andbyou can cycle through them. It also comes with a reader

I guess you didn't google it. Once again.

I'd just sum up everything that has been said so far, so that there should be no confusion.

- Amiibo figures or NTAG215 are not rewritable in a way that changes the Amiibo ID on them -> i.e. you cannot turn a Pikachu into a Mario
- if you want to read Amiibo files directly on a Nintendo Switch (without scanning anything or using external devices), it needs to be hacked
- if additionally JoyCon droid does not work on your phone, you have no options left that work without any kind of NFC tag
- a New 3DS cannot be used as an Amiibo, since there is no 3DS app for that purpose (and due to some technical limitations there's a chance that there might never be one)
- there are gadgets like the Amiiqo that emulate scannable NFC tags of various Amiibo, but need to be purchased and received before being used
- there are also pre-written NFC tags being sold online that work just like Amiibo when scanned

Other than that there is no easy and fast way. You already tried out all possible methods that didn't involve spending money. There is nothing else out there unless you code it yourself or simply buy stuff and wait for it to arrive.

If this was meant to raise my post count, I'd obviously reply to every new question with a small piece of information and add some passive-agressive "didn't you google it?" instead of making one post with all the information.

This was meant as a way of telling OP that every possible solution is on the table and that all of them have some strings attached to them in one way or the other, but whatever floats your boat, mate. If you need to derail, feel free to do so.

I use thenaya on 3ds to make amiibos. The NFC stickers can be like $20 for 100 if you look around... think I got mine from Aliexpress.

Not that it helps if you don't want to open the box, but thenaya also dumps amiibos. All you need is the amiibo.bin files and the keys (which are easily found with Google adding the term "pastebin").

I didn't add some little piece of information. I answered the question. He started asking for things that he should Google. I gave him everything already. Very common thing around this board. I still answered it but mentioned he should have Googled it himself.

Then here you come, Captain Save a noob.

This question has been answered before. I'm sure those threads were listed right below in the similar threads category when he posted this question. Most of the tempers here hate that. Thanks for perpetuating the laziness! I meant no malice tward the OP. And I think your post is hilarious.

Thenaya is great. I have found sets for like a dollar more than making them yourselves right there on Amazon. Complete with little plastic cases and all the artwork on each tag.

Bin files are super easy to come by if you Google it. Entire sets in 1 file. No need to tediously dump a ton of amiibos.

Amiibo bin set download

Google it.

I don't need your help, dude. I was just adding my 2 cents, since OP was wondering if anything can be done with a 3ds. Can't emulate an amiibo with it, but you can create amiibos on it with the NFC stickers.

I wasn't helping you. Just the OP. Downloading the set is much easier than dumping the lot of them. And buying the pre-made set is only a few dollars more than buying a bunch of blank tags and hassling with it in the first place. It wasn't about you.

Then there was no need to quote me. And the number of "issues" that pop up on github every week for emuiibo tells me that there is a lot more hassle than using the blank tags and a 3ds to make them. To each their own though.

Edit: And while grabbing all of them at once is a convenient option, so is being able to copy your own, in cases where some kind of progress is saved (like the Wolf Link, or pretty much any SSB amiibo).

I quote you so the OP can see what i am correcting.

Emuiibo works well. I actually use it. To argue without trying it first is stupid. And it's the only free, works right now, solution. That's what the Op asked for. If the OP had a modded system (or future readers) they would be in business. And bug reports?

Anything to argue. Right.

Emuiibo works well. Try it before you say otherwise. Amiigo can make bin files. And you can copy amiibos fine with a modded console. But the OP doesnt have these things.

3ds apps might be able to copy the bin.. I never messed with those much. I have tags and an amiiqo. That's why I didn't rattle off about them. I ditched my amiiqo and tags pretty much for emuiibo.

To sum it up. Beggars can't be choosers. What do you know about things you obviously don't know? And the previous "here's your options" still stands.

@mikefor20 dude... you don't know when to quit, do you? FIrst, nothing I said needed correcting. And the OP gets notified of every single reply, unless he turned it off on purpose, so no tags are needed.

Second, You don't know what I have and what I have not tried.

There are still outstanding issues on github for pretty annoying things, like

Inability to save gearsets to Splatoon amiibo
#193 opened yesterday by Kirb99

Emuiibo not saving in Super Smash Bros
#174 opened on Apr 28 by TomEFFENJones

Zelda Botw amiibos not working properly
#173 opened on Apr 24 by andremelo90

Same inklings
#148 opened on Dec 9, 2020 by edekhudoley

(I could go on, but I shouldn't have to)

Then, there's the fact that FW/Atmosphere/hekate updates have a bad habit of breaking Tesla/sysmodules, and people need to wait for updates. NFC stickers simply work. And they will always work, regardless of update, and regardless of using OFW or not. Can't use your emuiibo on OFW, now, can you?

Lastly, my reply was for the OP, not for you. Your response to me is not needed and not welcome.

Lol rofl There you go again. Lol. I use Tesla with emuiibo all the time. Works great. Botw and Splatoon2 work great. Gearsets work. I think you're grasping at straws. Sad. I don't doubt people have issues.. it's homebrew. Works great for me.

I have used it for a long time. It works great. Stop it. Lots of hombrew breaks when a CFW is updated. Big deal. You might as well not use any. Who cares what you do? You tried it? So what? You probably screwed up as usual. Plus, the OP doesn't want to spend any money or anything. Emuiibo is the only free solution unless you have a samsung phone with the compatible bluetooth for joycon droid. In this case the OP lacks a proper modded console but that doesn't mean future readers wont appreciate the information. Even if you don't. Who cares what you want. I don't need your permission or approval.

Lol My information is correct. Urnothing. I feel sorry for you.

Works great. OP said his phone has no NFC. I see lots of sets like that. Love the idea!
I have several garbage phones in my drawer that have NFC in them... He should just get a cheap used phone for TagMo.

These are some of mine:

I have garbage phones with nfc too. Lol nice collection. You could print artwork too. I have seen sets of artwork somewhere
I could print the artwork, but my printer only has black ink for printing shipping labels, and I'm not that dedicated. My label maker sure gets a workout though, lol.

I typically transport my "amiibo coins" that I make in old prescription pill bottles. Keeps them out of the landfills a bit longer.
