NXMP is an open-source Nintendo Switch media player based on MPV and FFMPEG, supporting a wide range of media file formats and codecs.
NXMP is coded by @proconsule54 and @darkxex

It support HTTP,FTP,SFTP,Samba,NFS streaming and it also support Enigma2 decoders. Starting from 0.7.0 Version it features HW Decoding for H264,HEVC,VP9,VP8,MPEG2 up to 4K HDR@30fps

NXMP it's on early versions and active dev state so expect any kind of bugs, anyways it's fully functional and tested before every release

Damn this sucks
I hope it will get implemented one day.

They gave access to OpenGL 4.3 (a great feature)
Recently the open source driver for Tegra X1 with NVDEC (for h264) is out on linux.
So with hard work from libnx team they can give us this ability (i hope so).

NXMP is not the best player in the world (probably not in the list of 100000 best player) but i am working hard to give the best result on switch.

Now I just need to check H265 support because most new movies are coming in this codec. Don't think it will be easy to run without hardware acceleration.

May the light be with you. Proconsule54 already opened the issue on libnx for hardware acceleration 16 days ago, so this is not depending on him.

Just watching h264/mp4/3k bitrate movie from exfat pendrive connected to dock. It’s just perfect! No issues at all.

Maybe it should remember play position when You quit from movie and suggest to continue watching from that moment?
Downloading subs from opensubtitles api also would be nice!

Nothing, the Applet mode also works, thanks.

We deleted Pplay from the Switches, our four kids use NXMP only, the live stream works great also. Thank you very much, you helped many.

I always thanks pplay author @cpasjuste for what i learned from his software. Without pplay NXMP never came out

Devel update, working on feature add like defualt audio language selection, video filters, playlist and resume position.
If no issue will be found in 0.3.0 i’ll move to 0.4.0

Still not sure you should be asking the dev to support ancient firmware when you could just use newer firmware. More unnecessary restrictions.

At last, we found something.

As you know, our kids use the Switches in power saving mode, so they found that, the user interface of NXMP is slow & has input lag compared to Pplay.

UI of Pplay never lags during file browsing, but UI of NXMP slows down & has long button lag if we list many files in directories.
