It is way easier to use, at least. Give it a try. I use filezilla for small files (like roms and such) and boop to install CIAs.
Sometimes boop can fail when the CIA is too big, in those cases i fall back to Filezilla again, copy the cia, then install and delete with FBI. Boop saves you that step (if it does not fail)

Try FileZilla. I never had any issue transferring big files to the 3DS with it.
