Homebrew Question Why won't my FTPD work?

I currently have a Nintendo switch that is on atmosphere 19.0.4 and firmware version 12.0.2

I have added the port 5000 to inbound and outbound, allowed FTPD and FTP programs to private and public domain and even eventually disabled my firewall on my computer completely and tried using either FileZilla, WinSCP or FlashEXP to connect to my Nintendo switch while having either FTPD classic opened, FTPD pro opened or sys-ftpd-light installed (when testing all, the others were not installed).

I have put my switch internal IP as the host and my port as 5000.

It says "Could not connect to server". I have worked it out to be the switch's problem.

Why won't my switch allow incoming connections for FTP?
IIRC I still had to start sys-ftpd-light manually (maybe I'm missing some extra steps to make it autoload), just having it on the SD wasn't enough. I had some stability issues with other ftpd homebrew (my entire console crashing which was inconvenient when I had just paused the game I was in to share some screenshots and hadn't had time to save) so would not recommend those but maybe you'll have better luck..
I'm very new to the aspect of networking and such so I don't know what can be done which such information but as far as I have heard, not much can be done with internal IP so my switch internal IP is 192.168.68.115 and my pc internal IP is 192.168.0.34
Why is your Switch on a different subnet than your PC? Is it connected to a different network or something? That could cause issues. In that case you need to make sure the subnet mask is set to 255.255.0.0 - this should be set on the router ideally but can be set on the Switch if you set a static IP - and you can also set the static IP to be on the same subnet.
If the Switch is on a guest network and the PC is on the main network the guest network may be isolated from the main network and it's never gonna work - you'll need to have them connected to the same network in that case.

This may all have been mentioned but I am not going through all 7 pages.

they are both on the same network

Idk what IP that is for but you could try adding your switch IP which I recommend setting a static IP, and see if it works.
anything in specific I should set?

Just something in range of your routers netmask (192.168.1.1-255) or whatever it is. Just one that will be your switches IP every time it connects to the network. Some peeps order IP's some don't it doesn't matter though.

Also by subnet I meant the 3rd part of the IP - so maybe try a static IP on the Switch and setting the IP to 192.168.0.201 (suggest a high number for the last part - it helps ensure it won't conflict when another device on the network is already using that IP because higher numbers get assigned last so it will be unlikely to ever be used by anything else), you shouldn't need to worry about changing the subnet mask as long as the subnet is the same on both.
You can also set the static IP on the router itself, that would be even better, as it avoids possible conflicts as that IP would be reserved for the Switch.
Static IP also helps ensure the IP doesn't change so you can save it in the FTP client and reconnect to it easily.
You will probably want to set a static IP for the PC as well, so that doesn't suddenly get a different subnet assigned and break things again.
I set a static IP on almost every device on my network from the router just for port forwarding purposes and convenience when I need to connect to one device on my network from another for whatever reason. Like moving stuff between my phone and PC over wifi (because MTP is a piece of shit, is slow and barely works)

set your start and end port to 5000, also go to devices/connected devices and find your switch IP, then change it from DHCP to static.

port forwarding is mainly for talking to devices on other networks outside of your internal or local network. Be careful as opening a port means anyone with your external IP can get into your network.

also my nintendo switch is not on connected devices for some reason. im looking for the mac address and ip adress but cant see it on the connected devices

leave the external port forwarding blank as it's not needed, check your switch settings for IP to make sure it has the correct one.
im on the switch system settings looking at the "IP address" and "Console MAC address" and they are both no on the list

like the switch says nothing for them both??
wait a second. I just realised that my pc is connected to a Wifi called "Home" and my switch is connected to a wifi called "home". There are two home internets... I'm talking to the guy that owns the router

Your Wireless config look ok.
The weird thing is that your modem shows no reference to the 192.168.68.0/24 IP range, which seems to be your wireless device range.
I'd say it's a different WiFi device, but you've already assured us it's not.

Edit: So it's a different device after all.

Same SSID and Password? really? For two different houses or the same house?

Just found out. "Home" is for ethernet connections and "home" is for "Deco" connections which is basically a wireless extension thing... For why he named it the same thing but less capital is beyond me and I am really pissed. Now im trying to find the password for "Home" since I don't know it.

I think I found your problem haha yeah that'll do it! Be sure to try and set static IP for the switch & PC with the same connection (wifi or cable) and it should work :)

This is my dilemma if you know a way to help with it. I all ethernet connections are to "Home" (AKA WiFi1) and wireless are to "home" (the Deco extension thing) (AKA WiFi2). The router is connecting WiFi1 to the Deco and computer through cable and the Deco takes that and transmits WiFi2 as wireless. The problem is that the router/WiFi1 is not being transmitted wirelessly, only through cable. how do I make it do both?. here is an image if you can even understand my terrible explaining

Oh I kinda use the sameish setup using (Asus) AI mesh. Can you login to the Deco (Is it like a router then?? Well yes I know it's an extender but it generates the WLAN {Wifi} So maybe it can be configured as well?) That might be what's blocking it and the router wouldn't see your switch because it's setup internet traffic through the Deco
Also Drawing out how your network talks and is setup is super helpful always because we didn't know what your internet traffic goes through!
