Is there a way to use your source menu with the default theme? I have it working but the orientation for the images are horizontal instead of vertical and they animate like the standard source menu rather than like yours. I have small box art set in the source menu settings because without it the images are stretched, distorted, and attached to 3d models of boxes as if they were games.

Can anyone help me with this? The source menu looks all weird. I have two different wii systems and one looks normal with the theme and the source menu on the other looks weird. Nothing else is wrong with the theme just the source menu. If anyone could help me that would be appreciated. I can move left, right, up, and down for some weird reason.
Hello. Is it possible to fix the 4:3 source_menu bug? I just need it for 4:3 reso :(

@biggzsizzle

hi biggzsizzle, i love your Theme so much but I can‘t get it run on my Wii.
Is it possible that you write a short manuel for installation ? Does it work with wiiflow 5.4.9?
Sorry I hadn't checked this post recently,..as far as a 4:3 "bug",.. I haven't used my Wii in 4:3 mode in,....well,...Never :|
As for v5.4.9 compatibility,..I'll have to check in with both of these questions, and get back to you. I've been really consumed with everyday-to-day life and the relentless Switch modding..lol
As for any type of guide for installation,...
I reccomend a fresh install when it comes to wiiflow,...
I'd start by downloading the app, then the plug-ins pack by @Tetsuo Shima, then get my theme. Decide where you want to install it (SD or USB drive), extract the wiilfow app to the root of the device you choose, to create "sd:/apps/wiiflow/" and "sd:/wiiflow/" after that, extract and copy contents of the plugin pack, and finally, extract my theme to the root of the same device and overwrite if prompted.

Did I leave anything out guys? It's kinda late, and I'm a little too elevated to be typing all this lol

You can make it work,..it's gonna be a lot of text comparisson and editing though,..
Install notepad++ (its free) use it to open
"sd:/wiiflow/themes_lite/coverflows/default.ini"
and
"sd:/wiiflow/themes_lite/coverflows/Carbonix.ini"
I think those are the right files,..(Man, I gotta start my Wii up more often)

He could just make a copy of Carbonix.ini and rename it to default.ini
To also have the exact same entries on the Default theme, he also need to copy tall he source menu .ini files from wiiflow/source_menu/Carbonix to wiiflow/source_menu

I thought PS4/5 and Xbox One emulation would be kind of easy since they basically just a PC
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
    they sorta are a pc
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They haslve dedicated on board chips that aren't tweaked like x64/x32 afaik
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
but its a custom os for both of them
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
    designed for only specific hardware
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
so you have to learn to emulate that specific hardware which isn't as easy as you'd think

It's a locked down Linux distro basically
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think the only custom hardware is to do with the SSD and a security chip
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Probably combined in one chip
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They place married security chips onto boards iirc

Didn't see much need for a console, all the advantages have kind of disappeared
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
the ps3 used to support installing linux because the cpu was so powerful
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Then the games are $70 and they want to reboot and refresh the same game every year
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
The ps3 was always Linux they just found a way to make it open source
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
I'm avoiding buying from the big 3 at all atm

At one point PC game pads where poorly supported, loading a game had setup, it was complicated. Now it's almost as easy as a console.

nintendo needs to up their game soon

considering the steamdeck can emulate the switch (yikes) theres almost 0 reason to buy the switch apart from playing online and using cartridges
