That isn't necessarily a good thing
It is, think of it this way.
The thread wasn't going the way you planned it too (actually happened to me)
and you desperately want to lock it but can't. It's our content, we should chose what happens with it

Ez solution to this problem:
Think before posting
What did I say?

Why do you have to lock it and ruin it for others when you can just mute and forget about it.

You don't get to control your own destiny, man. You can't just close down a thread because you don't like what people are saying in it, that's not fair to the discussions at hand that others are having.

If we locked our own threads we can actually chose HOW OUR CONTENT GOES
gbatemp isn't your everyday social media. in fact, controlling the way things go on the internet is pretty much classified impossible in a large portion of it

also, everyone knows you would abuse it. don't even bother denying it, the very fact you are questioning why(which should be obvious) you can't lock your own thread proves you would use it for malicious intent

believe it or not a mod has done that to threads they didn't create
why have rules anyway smh
I usually only lock threads if its necrobumped, going in circles bickering or devolved into a free for all on someone who asked a dumb question, after the 30th sarcastic reply I think its fair for the thread to just get locked instead of clogging up the forum list especially if the user in question has already acknowledged that they made a mistake

that said I know if users could lock their own threads there would be a lot of "hahah no u stink" *LOCKED* so they can get the last word in an argument, or people throwing a hissy fit because they are having a bad day and locking a topic because the spotlight wasn't on them in their own thread even though others are actively still discussing the topic

if you open a topic and are no longer interested in the topic just stop following it so you don't get notifications from it

dude i know
i've already been convinced

This would be helpful

No, and that goes in the same category from deleting your own posts.

No one wants people in here make their own echo chamber.
If a thread or a posts needs to be deleted, it will be at the staff discretion, if it was reported for that reason.
Same for locking a thread, report and ask nicely, if the moderator handling the report considers the reason valid, they will most likely oblige to it, else, the content will stay open and visible to every forum visitors.

If you are ashamed of your own posts/threads, then maybe work on your ability to think before posting, damage control and panic delete can stay on other social medias, thank you.

Maybe because the mods are the ones enforcing the rules?
What point are you trying to prove with this contradiction? lol

i don't have anything to say really
except thats some good reasoning
it actually would be pretty bad if non mods could lock their threads lol

That may be the fastest "nevermind I'm dumb lol" I've ever witnessed for a long time.

it's easier that way
i'm the dumbass

I wonder if that was the point of game streaming
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    But it's a dead end
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@Psionic Roshambo, people who cant download it can still play the game
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, i only have like 1 or 2 mb sec

Did you feed the hamster in your internet router? It prob died and is running slow now.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, why did you start saying my pc has a hamster in the first place?

Its actua!ly just a old joke, meaning its slow. Was just kidding around with you.

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

@BigOnYa, although the bullets are a bit buggy

    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it.
