RuneScape mobile announced for Summer 2021

After a successful period in early access, RuneScape will be joining the ranks of mobile gaming early this summer with a full release on Android and iOS. The mobile port of the twenty-year old MMORPG will include cross platform play available at launch, allowing players to freely switch between a computer and a phone or tablet, and will be available as a free download on the Apple iOS and Google Play app stores. Interested players are able to pre-order the title now, and will contribute to unlocking a series of in-game rewards that will be determined based on the total amount of pre-orders. Some of these rewards include cosmetics such as hairstyles, and a temporary XP boost in game.

Ryan Ward said:
“Today’s invitation to pre-order and pre-register is a massive and exciting moment. It has been no small feat to bring one of the world’s largest MMORPGs to the world’s largest and most widespread gaming platform. This Summer, we will be ready to welcome players on mobile to a fantastical, living world and through endless discovery connect them to a RuneScape community of millions. Our community means everything to us, and we have taken the time in Early Access to listen to player feedback and create an experience that was as awesome on mobile as it is on desktop. Given RuneScape’s 20-year heritage, to have the whole of RuneScape running on mobile is a monumental achievement and we couldn’t be more excited for launch.”

RuneScape on mobile is expected to be released on June 17th, 2021

Got back into Runescape two years ago, First to the newest version of it since I didn't want to start over- Then I saw how much it mutated to a pay to progress mess of a game and went to OSRS. Never went back

lol yea its a very old game
i feel like there gonna change something for the worse when it goes up on mobile app stores
since thats usually what happens

Except...they're not?
They're literally just creating a client that runs on phones. It's the exact same game it always is. Nothing is changing. You log in with the same account to the same servers. It's just a portable client for playing like on PC.

Most people play Ironman mode anyway, which basically locks you out of any MTX available, makes the whole experience 1000x more rewarding, 10/10 would recommend.

PSA You can never "quit" Runescape, you always come back!

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Booo.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's dumb
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Maybe.

There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.

Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
