Longtime LEGO developer Traveller's Tale announced today on their Twitter that LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, their "biggest and best-ever" LEGO Star Wars game to date, has been delayed indefinitely. Set to be an all-new retelling of all nine films in the main Star Wars saga, the title is expected to be the largest and most definitive in the LEGO Star Wars series.

Not sure if anyone informed Lego, but Star Wars was murdered in the 90's, raped, re-buried, then dug back up and raped again.
Prolly not the best idea to dig that dead horse up and beat it some more ya know?

If they really want it to be the best ever Lego Star Wars to date, they'd exclude the shitty sequel trilogy nobody likes expect for fat and ugly SJW's who don't play games lol

It's a game for kids in mind, and kids like Star Wars ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I expect any game announced in 2020 to be delayed at this point tbh. COVID fucked up everything.
It was announced in early-mid 2019, even :(

I was at the E3 for it, and got to see the demo. It was SO fun. And I say this as someone who didn't really care for LEGO games, and I'm also not a huge fan of Star Wars--I like the first two movies I guess, but this game was so fun and packed with cute references and details, and the devs seemed so passionate about the project. Ugh. I was truly interested in seeing how it turned out...

Devs release game too early
Gamers: wahhh wahhh bugs wahhhh wahhh content wahhhh

Devs delay game to polish it
Gamers: wahhh wahh dead game wahh wahhh gimme now wahh wahh

When a baby is crying at night the solution is often to ignore it because it's crying for attention and codling it every time it cries teaches it to cry more. Devs could really learn something from that.

Go outside. Leave the computer for once.

How am I supposed to do that with covid restrictions still in place in a lot of the blue states? lol

Besides, me simply going outside isn't gonna change the fact that the sequel trilogy is still an abomination, so I don't know what powers the outside has you think it does.

"something something delayed game good rushed game bad" - posted by the same people who love majora's mask
Majora's had the benefit of being mostly built on top of OoT. Same graphics and gameplay engines made it a lot quicker to develop. And because it was made specifically with the same general gameplay in mind, any new bugs were just a result of new concepts added to the game. Honestly even if rushed, it was still on a relatively stable engine considering the shitshow early 3D game engines was.

I suggest you watch the trailer, the cutscenes are pretty light-hearted/comedic

So why does it matter whether or not the sequel trilogy is good? Can't it just be fun? I don't even like the sequel trilogy but that ⅓ of the game can still be enjoyable despite that, especially considering how unserious it's being
And again, this isn't just Star Wars The Complete Saga HD DLC, the game is going to work differently from 1/2/TCS

This is an example of a game that fans expect too much out of and now developers are forced to make something they weren't intending on making.

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
