is there a way to use MAME on switch with the G&W emulation?

Madrigal´s simulator is so cool...but it isn´t perfect and missed some good games. dual screen games like mario bros fit perfectly. screen proportions are perfect for vs games and crystal screen games. But options are missing.

GBA and dsi remakes are cool but missed some good games.

NDS collections are perfect for dual screen g&w but only a few games.

G&W fail over time, and emulate all of them is a must!

thanks

I know you can use MAME core with Retroarch, to play quite a few MAME games, on the Switch. Not sure if that answers your question though.

The specific MAME core isnt available for retroarch using HOS.
With switchroot we can play all those Game & Watch games on the Switch using the .222 MAME core.
can you guide me? i really want to play those games

I don't know why you need a MAME core for Game & Watch emulation, Retroarch has a Game & Watch core that can play all the classic G&W games. I haven't hacked my Switch, but I know it has Retroarch, and considering Retroarch on Wii U does have the G&W core and I can verify it does indeed work there, I have to imagine the Switch has that core working as well.

the core in retro arch is a madrigal port. is missing some games

do you have switchroot (android Q) running?
If yes, you need the 32-bit retroarch installed first, then download the corresponding 32-bit MAME core. I dont know if I can link a download for the core, if not, maybe you can join the switchroot discord.

What games don't work? Any title I've tried works without issue in the core.
super mario bros is not in the list of games. don`t have an option to add.

The Game & Watch core is far from perfect and is only based on simulators made by Madrigal (they are fine of course).
With MAME we have now perfect emulation of all the Game & Watch games made by Nintendo and other LCD games.

did you test it on switch?

Yes, I got it running on my switch but as I mentioned only using Switchroot (android). AFAIK there is no MAME core (the main one, not the MAME_2003, MAME_2003 plus, etc) for retroarch using HOS.
All games are running perfect, even using the artwork. Super Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda look amazing on the switch screen.

You need to backup everything on the sdcard unfortunately because hekate do a full format for correct partition, after that, yes, you can launch sxos and android on the same card after restore all your games, or try with another sdcard from scratch to avoid all those steps. By the way, are you using an unpatched v1 (erista) switch? Because right now android only launch on those consoles, switch lite or switch v2 (mariko) are not supported.

yes, I got the first one, they told me I could partition without formating using minitool partition, I allready see the steps on how to inject the payload and install android, don´t know yet how to install mame
