Is it safe to oc to 1780/920/1600 on my switch lite ?
Im a bit worry that the heat could damage the solidiring or the chip itself the max temp i could hit is only 55c so it should be fine but still want to make sure
can anyone confirm ?

It is safe. Technically 1780 isnt even overclocking. The chip is designed to run at that speed.
The switch is by default underclocked for better portable battery life.
The switch can take much higher temperatures than you could ever reach with those profiles, and if you somehow push it over the limit it is designed to shutdown. The only thing that may happen is you may have to replace the battery a little sooner. Your not going to melt the solder either with those temps :P.

Yeah was running it today at 1700/920 for two hours
max temp is 50
max fan speed is 35

50°C is well within the safe range for a cpu under load , from personal experience you could run it to 65-70°C before running into any issues like throttling or emergency shutdown

i do not recommend you get to those temperature, but i don't think 50°C is cause for concern

don't OC unless needed and don't run your switch under full load unless needed for an extended period of time

The main concern with handheld overclocking is battery life. Heavy drain on the battery in handheld can cause it to degrade and even warp over time. This is an issue with Erista going above 500 GPU for example. Mariko with the same big battery would probably be fine but I'm a little less sure with Lite which has a different battery. If you play plugged in then this is obviously a non-issue.
