That’s the best way to learn (but don’t rely on shitty YouTube videos , always prefer a good written tutorial ( that you can find here).Darn my mistake, major noob attack, will go and read up on how to update it to latest version.

And come back if there’s something you don’t understand or faces issues .
Overwriting is not a good option, always prefer deleting (Atmosphere and sept folders, merge switch folder, a bit more of work as you have to reinstall sigpatches and sometimes some “other stuff”).Thanks
I just grabbed latest ver, overwritten the stuff on my memcard. it now shows 18.1, still get the error when i went to run "vvvvvv" from the hbmenu though.. strange.
nah lol and back I go.. going to follow birbs switch guide and see how that goes.Overwriting is not a good option, always prefer deleting (Atmosphere and sept folders, a bit more of work as you have to reinstall sigpatches and sometimes some “other stuff).
Did you update your sigpatches ?
Will go and check out TotalJustice thanks.Overwriting is not a good option, always prefer deleting (Atmosphere and sept folders, merge switch folder, a bit more of work as you have to reinstall sigpatches and sometimes some “other stuff”).
Did you update your sigpatches ?
Go to @TotalJustice github.
How do you launch Atmosphere ?
Are you on EmuMMC ? How did you update your firmware ? What is the format of your sd card ? (Fat 32 or Exfat).
I don't see why migrating it to a new card would cause issues with the original card unless you decided to go online with both simultaneously which doesn't really seem feasible.I've been checking various guides/threads before I make an attempt to 'clone' my sd card. The last one I linked seems to be hit nor miss. Not sure about the following guide.
https://birbchirp.gitbook.io/switchguide/misc-useful-stuff/migrating-emu-new-sd
Would migrating your emummc to a new sd card interfere in someway with the original card working? I want to know if I'd still be able to use the original SD card or if the process somehow messes with pointers or something and makes it so in the end you're just going to be left with the new SD card. The reason I want to do this is so I can just swap between cards depending on the games or homebrew setup I want to run on EmuMMC more like a stock switch.
You can follow this guide although you should be aware that you do not install CFW on the Switch.hello, I have a nintendo switch with serial XAJ70013... there is a guide on how to install a custom fw to use homebrew and backup roms
How is the SD card formatted?Hi all, please link a relevant thread if I have missed it or refer my post to a different place. I have read the faqs.
I'm a complete beginner and am having trouble with my switch that is modded with trinket. I have tried to find answers elsewhere but am finding the technical language daunting.
- I bought this modded switch with trinket second-hand and I was unable to turn it on when it arrived. It had an sd card with all cfw needed to run hekate and atmosphere. Saved/ backed up those files.
- I thought it might need a new battery so changed it for a fresh one. Worked, turned on, payload injected and got atmosphere running.
- Saw that it was on an outdated version of atmosphere, so decided to update by taking the sd card out of the switch and into my computer (was using Mac OS). This didn't work and in the process I managed to make the sd card unreadable. I used bootcamp to partition my HD to windows to try reformatting the card but after 2 days it was still not formatted and long story short decided to buy a new card.
- Got the new card and on windows tried adding all the updated files from the NH switch guide.
- Put the card into my switch, held the volume up and power buttons. The screen showed that hekate had loaded for a second before it went black. Thought the battery had died so plugged it in with the original charging cable. Trinket lights still visible through the back mesh vents. No battery sign on the screen. It's been on the charger for about half an hour.
- Tried changing the files on the sd card to the original ones from the first sd card. Still nothing.
- Tried adding the original Nintendo folder to the sd card. Still nothing.
What can I do now? Is this a problem with the battery or sd card?
Thank you in advance!
hi again,@schatzi123 thanks for the screenshots, don’t be sorry, that’s fine , too tired tonight to give you an accurate answer, will do it tomorrow, unless someone do it before me .
Try these sigpatches instead...https://github.com/ITotalJustice/patches/releaseshi again,
in meantime, I did update fw and cfw, now I'm on 11.0.1/0.18.1/S,
and I installed again 3d world with awoo installer and now says:
the software was closed because an error occured.
new sigpatches, from here.
i don't know what is going on? (other games works fine)
Thats the sig patches i used.Try these sigpatches instead...https://github.com/ITotalJustice/patches/releases
and Boot into Hekate menu, select "Payloads", then select "Fusee-Primary"
You don't need both sets of sigpatches if only booting Fusee-Primary, but no harm in having both...Glad you fixed. Have fun!Thats the sig patches i used.
Just wondering did I do it correctly..
I downloaded both fusee.zip and hekate.zip from that link, extracted them both, then dropped all content of hakate and then fusee zips on the sdcard.. thats all I needed to do?
It does seem to all be working now.
I see, Thanks mate! You don't need both sets of sigpatches if only booting Fusee-Primary, but no harm in having both...Glad you fixed. Have fun!
Just need Fusee.zip sigpatches if booting Fusee-Primary, but no harm having both sets on there. I've never used NUT so have no idea, but know can use Goldleaf and install from a USB device. Place NSP, XCI on USB thumb drive then plug it in to switch dock, then can install games from that, when docked. Good Luck and Have Fun!I see, Thanks mate!
Any preference on which one or both good to go?
An other things while I'm here.. I installed NUT and browsed via usb to my pc and installed a "backup game", worked fine.. What I wondered though is there any browser or way to grab and install the files from my NAS over the wifi network? save having to connect to pc when I want new homebrew or games..
cheers
Glad you got it working, and sorry to not have gave you an answer before, was quite busy these last 2 days, As for the Nas, can’t help you as I don’t own one. Tinfoil should be able to do that, as you can set your own remote sources (but dunno if all the features are available under Atmosphere without a licence.dat in your sd Some trick was floating around to avoid the Blawar lock, but don’t know much about it).I see, Thanks mate!
