I recommend anyone on SX OS at least setup Atmosphere now so you have it in the future if/when you need it.

But there's no hurry, or did I miss something? I mean, you can update the emuNAND at any time with Choidujour and install the latest version of Atmosphere.

There is no hurry as long as you don't update to 11.0.1. Since 11.0.1 was such a minor update, there aren't going to be any games that require a system version above 11.0.0 for a long while. Eventually, however, when Nintendo releases new system versions, updating to something higher than 11.0.0 will be required to play new games.

ChoiDujourNX is also no longer recommended. The recommended way of updating is using Daybreak on Atmosphere. It's much safer.

Yes, I read something about ChoiDujourNX corrupting Boot0. Considering that I have the Nand at 9.2.0 and I updated the emuNand to 11.0.0 with ChoiDujourNX, what would you recommend me to do to install Atmosphere?

Download Atmosphere and the latest signature patches, put the contents of both onto the SD card, and boot using fusee-primary. If you use an emuMMC, you may need to edit the config to boot the emuMMC instead of the sysMMC. If you want to be switching between different custom firmwares, you can boot into Hekate instead and chainload fusee-primary as an Atmosphere boot entry. You can also replace the reboot to payload bin with Hekate so when you want to switch custom firmwares, you can reboot to Hekate and switch to SX OS, for example.

There's no harm in having both, I don't see the point in all this bickering. Use whatever you want, SX OS may or may not get updates going forward - we won't know until we know and then we'll know. The legal conundrum they're in right now makes things rather uncertain, to say the very least. For now, Atmo works, so you can use it for things that don't work on SX OS, easy. You don't need to "wait for an update", you can use both solutions and launch whichever one you need at any given time.
Thanks for confirming my “point of a view “, since there’s absolutely no “harms” in having both CFW running on the same sd and will of users. I find all these “trash “ posts Sxos versus Atmosphere, a waste of time and energy.

Better to use “ FastCfw switch” overlay, to switch between CFW, , reboot-to- payload “not modified “ is nice under a “KP” in Atmosphere.

My question was how to start the migration from an emuNAND (partition based) updated via ChoiDujourNX. I can use the boot0/boot1 backups from the sysNAND and restore them via EMUtool. And then I'm good to go, right?

Are you using a TX modchip on a Mariko unit? If not, I don't think you need to worry about it.

If you run into issues because of ChoiDujourNX usage on the emuMMC, you can just migrate the boot0/1 from the sysMMC to the emuMMC.

Right, I should have started with that: I installed the SX Core on a Mariko. I have the emuNAND in a hidden partition with 11.0.0 and I use SX OS 3.1.0 BETA. As you say, I'm in no hurry to upgrade to 11.0.1, as it's not required for games at the moment, nor use Atmosphere right now... Unless it's necessary to do it already for whatever reason.

Why did you have to reinstall any of your software?
That is absolutely not the case. Normally you just boot Atmosphere with sigpatches and that's it. You don't need to reinstall anything, unless you used the SX album homebrew browser to install XCIs - those won't start on Atmosphere.

i am still on 10.0.2 use tinfoil to install so far all my games works no rush to install shitty Atmosphere
I never got Bloodstained Ritual of the Night to work on SXOS, even when installing via Tinfoil.

Yeah “tickets issues”, never used this Installer. There’s no point in installing xcis, either you use them from usb or you install nsps.

You'll eventually have to update to something higher than 10.0.2 to play newer games, and since you'll also eventually have to update to something higher than 11.0.0 to play newer games, Atmosphere will eventually be required.

No offense, but you're just an underinformed troll. You know that TX took like 98% of their code from Atmosphere, right?
Switching over is really, really easy. Takes absolutely no effort to do it when you're not on Emunand - just copy the files and load a different payload - and very little effort if you're on Emunand - gotta read up ten minutes on how to use your SX emunand with Atmosphere. That's it. Enjoy contemporary updates. And if XCI is your main argument, god forbid, just spend those 40 bucks on a 400gb microSD and never worry about having not enough space again. No one can tell me that they need like 50 games installed at once, or 300 games able to boot as XCI asap, at all times. That's just a petty hoarding mentality.
Of course you can just continue using SX OS that didn't get an update for two months and -not that unlikely- never will again, but hey, be my guest. It'll serve you fine for another 6 months or 12, but at some point games will require a higher firmware than 11.0.
Oh, and on a sidenote: before anyone accuses me of being an Atmosphere-loving SX hater again - I've had SX OS since it was released and I've been a lazy, SX OS loving fanboy ever since, but even I can acknowledge when it's time to switch. Probably one of the reasons why I wrote a tutorial to merge from SX to Atmos like two years ago.

:switch:

So daybreak is the way to go to update now? Works on SX too?
Atm I miss only online play, anything else works perfect on SX. Going to wait some more, really don't want to learn a new cfw with emunand and stuff, also installing all my stuff from scratch.

Daybreak does not work on SX OS. If you need to update, booting into Atmosphere to update with Daybreak is recommended. Daybreak is safer, and using ChoiDujourNX on a Mariko hit can cause compatibility problems down the road.
