I have been trying to download boot9strap for a few days and evereytime i try to use the qr code on my new 3ds xl the screen goes white on the top and red on the bottom. i am not sure on what to do i just wanna play pokemon

What's the model and system version of your console? Are you following this exactly guide?

Edit: Ok, your console is NEW model. On the other hand, do yo know if your console was hacked before? Try to turn it on while pressing the SELECT button and check what happens
