Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game will be getting a physical release courtesy of LRG

One of the most sought-after delisted games is coming back this year, in not just digital form, but physical as well. Ubisoft and Limited Run Games are teaming up to release a boxed version of the game for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. Pre-orders will go live on January 15th, with three different versions being available: the regular edition, the Classic Edition, which comes with a classic clamshell case, map, and soundtrack, and the KO! Edition, including everything from before, a guide book, an enamel pin, trading cards, a special collector's case, guitar picks, drumsticks, and even a release of the soundtrack on not just CD, but cassette as well. Those interested will want to lock their pre-orders in as soon as possible on January 15th, at 10am ET.

I love when companies include all these physical goodies with their special editions, but as I get older I find myself just cluttered by all of it, and it inevitably ends up in a box somewhere, never to be seen again. Just part of growing up, I suppose

And just so we're clear, it DOES come with a physical cartridge of the game in the case, right? RIGHT? I'm just skeptical, because the cart isn't pictured anywhere, and I didn't know that random-ass people have access to make Nintendo Switch cartridges.

It sucks to be poor. I'll do whatever it takes to get this.

Limited Run games aren't "random ass people" at all.

LRG has been doing this for years. They're notable for their cause of preserving games that wouldn't be otherwise, and they also try to wait for day 1 patches and such so they can be already applied to the cart release without need of servers or downloads.

It should have received a physical release back on the PS3/360 days, too. This is obviously great, but I get the feeling this will pave the way for a distributor to make mass copies.

Not a fan of LRG.
