Thank you.:)

You can delete the a File or the Folder "usbloader_gx" inside the "apps" on your SD Card.
That will brick nothing,no worries.:)
You can try to boot up your Wii without SD Card into the Wii Menu and go into the Homebrew Channel.
You will see,it is ok,but no Applications there.

An other Thing is,if you have installed a File to boot directly (USBLoader GX for Example),that could be maybe a "Problem".But nothing really serious,if you have Priiloader and/or BootMii (as IOS) installed.:)

If you have Questions or feeling unsure, please ask.:)

Thank you.:)
Hi again! I was able to reinstall USBLoaderGX again, but it's still the same problem.

Here are some info that may help:
  • DSI Error if I try to change game loader on IOS 250:
    Stack dump: 80c299d8 > 80c299bc>80d07ae4
    Code dump:
  • This happened after I installed Nintendon't so maybe the problem is there?? I've read somewhere that it could be possible that the default IOS can change if I try to insert game channel discs. (I use it to try out some pokemon GameCube Japanese games and it works)
  • New info: For my v10 beta52 d2x-v10-beta52 CIOs, the revisions are (21010,21, and 65535) Should that be correct? (I installed the 65535, but if 21010 is wrong, maybe I downloaded the wrong one?
  • New info: Just realized that in the USBLoader GX main screen the free space is looking buggy. It displays #3710954#91#.00GB of 4000697 above the number of games that I have.
I think I'll try burning it to discs instead because USBLoader is very wonky. Or is there an alternative to USBLoader GX?

Update:
Oh no, I think I bricked my wii....
I turned off my system when I was reinstalling cIOS on 249....
Now it can't connect to the internet when I try to reinstall CIOS.... I'm on a loop at net_gethostbyname failed -6

No Problem.
Please try it again, maybe the Connection was not good. Please disconnect any USB Device from your Wii.
If you have still Issues, you can get your cIOS with @XFlak ´s awseome ModMii on your PC:
https://gbatemp.net/threads/modmii-for-windows-official-support-topic.207126/

Under "Download Page 4" you will find dx8-final Versions for 249.:)
Please use a WAD Manager like YAWMM (you can get it also with ModMii) for the Installation.

After you "fixed" it please make also an sysCheck:
https://gbatemp.net/threads/posting-a-system-check.300279/

To see,if your Wii is modded correctly.:)

Good Luck, take your time, please make everything in Calm and Peace.
Thank you.:)

Update:
I think my IOS is good because I tried downloading Neogamma and the games finally work!!
I think the problem was either USBLoaderGX or my HDD because the game launch on a DVD.

Anyways, I'll stop with USBLoaderGX for now because it's driving me crazy. Thanks anyways for the help!

Maybe you can try and give @blackb0x Enhanced Mod a Chance:
https://gbatemp.net/threads/usb-loader-gx.149922/page-1316#post-8856063

It is a little "updated"/Code cleaned and works for many Users, who have Issues with the latest r1272 from the USBLoader GX.

You can also try an older Release (r1271 or 1268 are a good Choice).
https://sourceforge.net/projects/usbloadergx/files/Releases/New revisions (3.0+)/

Good Luck
Thank you.:)

  • I use a WD My Passport Orange 1TB and its in NTSC format.!

Have you looked at the drive using a partition manager and making sure there are no other unallocated items or items with an ASTRIX on the drive. If there are you should merge them into the main partition. See the the link at the end of my signature for pictures of this.

Have you considered reformatting the drive to FAT32 with 32k clusters? I've never used the NTFS format on a Wii drive, always FAT32 so it works with all of the other homebrew programs.

The problem with this is that I used a hard drive that my dad uses for movies, so if I format it, I also get a good scolding haha

But I do agree it may be a problem with the hard drive since it's not a dedicated one for just Wii games. But my concern is that it used to load properly before, but now it isn't. So I think it may be more of a USBLoaderGX problem.

I'll try to visit the suggestions you've given me next time, but I finally found a good copy of the game I was looking for so I'm good for now.

Thanks anyways for the help! Really great community.

So I talked to rimsky82, which is working on migrating all the codes from GeckoCodes.org to GameHacking.org.

He said he already did "a lot of work" on an API for hosting the codes, thankfully. He is working on other things at the moment though.

I'm looking forward for things to be migrated, because codes.rc24.xyz is something I made really quickly so people can get codes again. It was also hard to get an account to post codes on GeckoCodes, I asked James0x57 on a few places (email, Discord, etc.) for an account, and no response. GameHacking.org will be more open and easier to submit codes too (in fact, there's already a page for codes on the site).

I wish James made sure it was fully migrated before shutting the site down.

WiiFlow Lite, USB Loader GX, and Dolphin Emulator all use codes.rc24.xyz right now, but it'd probably be as simple as replacing the URL for people to continue getting codes.

I recently got a new flash drive. I formatted it to FAT32 and transferred my wii files to it from my old flash drive. When I try to load USB Loader GX from the new flash drive, it stops on the opening "applying sorting and filtering" screen. I tried the old flash drive and it works properly. Does anyone know what is causing this problem? How do I fix it? I have the latest version of USB Loader GX.

Wii doesn't like some brands. Did you set the right clustersize also? 32k should be selected while formatting it as FAT32. I had some problems with some USB pen drives too before. SanDisk worked best for me.

Do not use flash drives, you're only asking for problems. Spend the $$ to get a 1TB external hard drive, or a 5TB that will fit all the US Wii and GameCube tiles if you can afford it.

I recommend Western Digital Passport and Western Digital P-10 Game drives.

Thanks for the response. I just shelled out good money for a big flash drive. Too bad I didn't get an external HD instead.

Hello.:)

What is is about flash drives that makes them so bad?

The "Write Cycle".

From 100 USB Sticks/Flash Drives/Thumb Drives/Pen Drives and so on 70 failes on the Recognition and 80 after a short Time of Usage - Figuratively speaking.:)
It is a matter of Brand/Type/Age....so much Factors,so

It is a no reliable Device for the Wii/Wii U/vWii.:)

Thank you.:)

I've released a new update.
  • Automatically patch error 23400 for CoD (Black Ops, Reflex, MW3) and Rock Band (3, The Beatles)
  • Automatically patch the Mario Kart Wii remote code execution vulnerability
  • Removed BenFi as a private server option because the server went offline
  • Added an option to set a custom private server address directly from the loader
  • Added HTTP(S) proxy support and improved how connection timeouts are handled
  • Added game header caching thanks to Oddx & geoGolem (disabled by default)
  • Changed the URL for cheats because geckocodes shutdown
  • Other general fixes
Download: https://gbatemp.net/posts/8856063

Special thanks to everyone who's sent me pull requests at GitHub and patches here at GBAtemp.

@Clutz450 If you've got a lot of games on your USB HDD and your emuNAND is on your SD card then it speeds up loading times. It's not enabled by default though because the cache can become out of sync if you add or remove games externally, so you'd then need to manually reset the cache (Settings > Features > Reset Game Header Cache).

I've got my emuNAND stored on my USB HDD instead of my SD card and my games list already loads within 2-5 seconds, so personally I keep header caching disabled.

@blackb0x Thanks for the reply. I keep everything on my USB hard drive (Wii, Gamecube and EmuNAND) which is 2TB in size and pretty much full. I feel like I have everything set up perfectly so I will not be adding or removing any more games. I use your tab mod and I feel like it does take a bit of time when I first load it up and when I switch between tabs. So maybe I will give it a shot and see if it speeds things up. Thank you.
