MM-LINX - Super Mario Maker 2 Level Injector

nstall the MM-LINX homebrew application on your switch, to install levels uploaded to https://tinfoil.io/MarioMaker/ directly to your Super Mario Maker 2 Level slots!

Very early release, please be patient and it will get better with time as all of my applications do :) Feel free to post feature requests and bug reports.

This is currently hard coded to use the first user profile. Please ensure that Super Mario Maker 2 is not running, and that you have at least one SMM2 save on the first user's profile.

For maximum compatibility and stability, we recommend that you use ReiNX or SX.

edit: 1.01 fixed sorting, press + to sort
edit: 1.02 added support for uploading your levels to tinfoil.io from MM-LINX
edit: 1.03 added file browser for installing levels from (sd, ftp, http, gdrive, usb, etc), search, ability to change user, translation (needs work), ability to copy files to and from smm2's save directly, themes, other stuff I probably forgot.
edit: 1.04 saving / loading is now much faster and does not overwrite your save progress; added columns for difficulty, rating, and course id; ability to unlock hammer and super flower on supported cfw's.
edit: 1.05 increased security, mandatory update. Cloud servers will no longer work with previous versions (downloads section will be empty).

Last edited by blawar,
My apologies. How do I install this on my switch? Inside is only a README.MD file and a few jpg. Do i drag the folder to my switch root ?

When I try to download a level, I just get an error failed to download, failed to install. Tired to reinstall Mario maker, doesn't help.

Hi all,
I'm unable to download levels. i see them from the list but i continuously receive a failed to download + failed to install error. any guidance?

Make sure the levels are sorted in numeric order like 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7....etc that fixed it for me

hi all. i want to ask,can I use MMLinx to also put/inject courses in "Downloaded Courses" tab? or it can only work in "My Courses" tab with max 120 slots? thank you.

Since this app hasn't been updated in a while, is there a replacement? For me, it does list levels, but I can't download any.
What is there to update? It works fine as long as you install the NSP version. There is no replacement and won't ever be

Well, allow me to spitball a little here: (I am a coder after all) I would improve the functionality a little by allowing injection into any of the User accounts on the console. It seems like there is also a need to be able to create save data where there isn't any to begin with. I understand that this homebrew is essentially a fork of tinfoil, and as such these are a little outside the scope of that design. The potential is still there, and can be built upon.

I think the biggest feature, (and the most complicated to implement if I'm being fair), would be connectivity with the game modes that actively fetch levels as you are playing, (such as 100 Marios mode), so that the game fetches from the MM-LINX repository instead of the official one.

On an easier note, was this homebrew ever updated to allow for custom "worlds" ? (Something that was added to MM2 quite a bit later.)

Your best bet for worlds is to download the individual courses and design the world layout yourself. As far as I know worlds can't be downloaded even on the legitimate version of the game.

I downloaded latest MM-Linx (v.8.10) to my Switch (SXOS). Switch is on firmware 10.2.0 and SMM2 has been updated to ver 3.0.1. My switch is used by me and my 3 children.
In MM-Linx I switched to the correct user where I want to download levels for. It says succesfully downloaded to slot 0,1,2,.....
I then start up SMM2 and choose a user. I choose play and coursebot. Your levels: only the 3 levels that my son created and when I select downloaded levels: nothing there.

What did I do wrong??

Try it on the main level, and try installing them to unused slots.

Apologies, I meant "install it to the main user". As in the first user.
Yep that's it :) I'm the first user so I made a save in SMM2 first; Sorry it was mentioned in the opening post indeed.
In the future will it be possible to download levels per user?

This hasn't been updated in several months.
I doubt it.
