Seems that MercurySteam might be wrapping up development of a new 2D Metroid game called Metroid Ravenous.

It'll probably be good, but I'm curious if something like this - which would probably run perfectly on Switch 1 - would be a Switch 2 exclusive.

It'll be a business decision. I'd have thought releasing on Switch 1 would be better for sales of the game as the system is so popular, but releasing on Switch 2 exclusively could help drive sales of the Switch 2 system.

Switch 1 has a problem though: piracy. Any Switch 1 game can be played on PC.

I wonder which way they'll go. I'm guessing they'll release it as a Switch 2 exclusive title purely to beat piracy, but let's see.

Metroid keeps getting ruined over and over again...

The core of the game has always been exploring the world (alone) with little information.
In other words, you—as a human—face life forms on the planet.
Metroid 1, 2 and Super Metroid captured that true essence, Prime 1 and 2 did it too.
The rest isn’t Metroid anymore—it’s Mega Man in Kirbys World with A-Team..

Most importantly, there shouldn’t be any human characters on your journey because these characters ruin everything.
I want to be alone on the planet as a vulnerable human searching for items and not starting conversatios with Human characters..

Why does Metroid have to have such bright colors on the planet?-Kirby Dream Land..
And why is Kung Lao from Mortal Kombat now playing as an opponent?

I really like Metroid, but only when it stays true to its original philosophy.
I doubt the next Metroid will have anything to do with Metroid—it'll just exist in name only...
