Is there any homebrew to play to an installed game without the update, just the base game ?

I managed to do that by extracting the NCA of base game in romfs and exefs folders, and then putting them in Atmosphere/contents/GAMEID

I can play the game with my save, but it's the retail version.

An homebrew that just launch the base NSP without going through these process would be so cool (since some updates just can't be ignored, the game won't launch if it's not installed).

Just reset required version with goldleaf 0.9-dev.

I didn't know that tehre was a 0.9-dev version. I did it and it work.
That option is also on 0.8 but doesn't work, idk why.

But it's an unconvenient workaround because you have to uninstall the update, and reinstall it when you want to play with it.

I imagine an homebrew that could just launch the base nsp when activated (why not an overlay, would be even better), and launch the updated version when it's disabled.

If my knowledge is correct, only qlaunch and their replacements can launch games because session for running games requires systemapplet priviliges and those are available only for qlaunch titleid.

I see.
But atmosphere mods can directly interact with games launched by qlaunch so I guess an Atmosphere module could make a game launch without its update. I'm not an expert but its sound way more easier than many other homebrews and modules.

Layeredfs is just redirecting fs calls for files in romfs and exefs. What you want is a different piece of cake and doesn't use fs at all.

So technically is it possible to have the base game installed, and have the update in layerfs (exefs and romfs folders) so that the game would load with the update despite the fact it's not installed or do you mean its impossible with layerfs ?

It's possible, but dunno if there won't be any complications.

Wired controllers from ps3, ps4 and xbox 360 etc on the switch by softmod?
So iv seen there are software out there to connect older and newer bluetooth versions of controllers to the switch. Among them the xbox one S, wii u controller and classic controller etc. (missioncontroll app).

But is there any way to reuse those first mentioned wired controllers withouth an adapter somehow?
I remember on the wii U there where software doing just that, where you could connect a controller and fix the button mapping easily. HID to VPAD was its name?

Edit:
Just found the "sys-con" and giving that a try if I dont hear any better options!

RPG Maker (Player) Alternative Repository & Porting Project

DISCLAIMER: This project is in reference to a FREE title on the eShop (the RPG Maker PLAYER), and FREE games you can download from the Player's in-game menu, so this is NOT a piracy related project!

Since the release of RPG Maker on the Switch, you can also download the free RPG Maker player to play RPG maker games on your Switch. (Which you can also download for free from within the Player application on your Switch.)
Accessing this content can be an issue for Switch users running CFW, (as is the case with anything you try to do online on a Switch running CFW), so I want to try to setup an alternative method of downloading these FREE titles. (If there are any titles in the Player that require a fee to download, they will be excluded from this project. I don't think any such titles exist anyway.)

I am a coder so I am capable doing some of the work on this project, but I do need a little help from someone with a Switch running CFW that has access to the Nintendo eShop.
Here are the two things I need:
1. List of available titles in the Player download menu. (I can't find any listings outside of the Player app itself.) Any titles that have a fee (ie. NOT FREE) we will exclude but we would like to at least acknowledge that those titles exist even if we aren't going to back them up.
2. File/Folder structure of downloaded Player games -- This is the part that requires CFW. On CFW you can see the downloaded Player games in folders other than where a typical eShop game would go. (ie. a folder within the Atmosphere folder if that is the CFW you are running.) This will tell me how the games file/folder structure work in comparison to RPG Maker games on other platforms.

A secondary byproduct of this project would be the ability to port over free RPG Maker games from other platforms, (ie. on PC), over to the Switch as well. Once again, this would be limited to FREE games only. There are commercial RPG Maker made games available on PC that are NOT free, so in this instance we do have to make the distinction.

If there's any Switch owner running CFW that would be interested in helping me with this, I would very much appreciate it!

Since fw 11 introduced controller presets (not per game unfortunately), it would be cool to have an overlay that allows to switch presets on the fly.
