the disclosure agreement allows for several weeks, if not months (ti doesn't specify which), to fix the exploit. all it says is ample time, then the hacker can disclose it to the public. afaik, TheFlow never disclosed it, so maybe he's serious about saying fuck the ps4 scene. I can't say I blame him after what people have said.

bguerville and I both read the disclosure agreement. no set time is mentioned, just enough that the exploit can be corrected. I mentioned to him that a year was plenty, since the 6.72 exploit was found in June of 2019, but he mentioned to me that weeks should be adequate.

funny thing is I've probably known Rasputin longer than anyone. I met him on usenet (nzbmatrix) before the ps3 was hacked. I recently found a good indexer to get two episodes of one of my favorite series. not a game but a tv show. anyway, Rasputin does have a tendency to piss people off especially devs. not to say I'm one, but I got into a fight with him, and he added "butt hurt" to my ps3 tutorials. the irony is that he kept making fake accounts, when on that site, ps3hax, he attacked the administrator when he was banned. the shoes on the other foot so to speak.

Been reading this thread with interest and being a bit of a fantasist I wanted to throw in my opinion, based on no facts or nothing I've been told.... that said I wouldn't be surprised if we see an exploit based on BT vulnerability which will smash the machine wide open.

Ok, I'll get my coat.... funnier things have happened !

Flow got his PS4 from qwertyoruiopz in march 2020, a few days later (Mar 21st) was the report at hackerone. Public disclosure after 4 months... so I guess we need to wait a bit longer.

Now that you said the name of the bad guy, Ras'putin', I can see the evil clearly... ;) lol

I doubt that theFlow will change his mind because of some flames, he is a smart and though guy.

Should I stay on 8.00 and hope for cfw or update to 8.01??

You are outside of the 7.02 firmware window, may as well update, not sure when there will an exploit past firmware 7.02, the 6.72 firmware exploit took two years, so no ETA for an exploit for higher firmware, as there might never be an exploit.

also, the ps4 exploits are not anywhere near as stable as you might think. you get kernel panics: black screens or shutdowns randomly even on 5.05.

I think I get crashes if I have a usb disk plugged in when launching the exploit, but other than that nothing.

@godreborn I defy you to stay on 5.05 and X-Project when Leeful drops his next project.

All I can say is: it’s incredible.

My ps4 has been off pretty much all year :-) If leeful can release something that makes me turn it on then that would be something.

If you keep updating then you'll never get an exploit, you just need to decide whether to wait, buy another console or give up on hax.
