I never had an issue before but my joycons disconnect in handheld. They are old, day one purchased in fact. I've tried cleaning them with rubbing alcohol and a fine bristle tooth brush, qtip, etc. I've blown it out with an air compressor. The only fix I found was a small sliver of paper folded in half between the rail and the joycon. This however makes me uncomfortable as it makes the joycons now rather stiff. They have no more play in them than they did day 1, so I can't understand whats causing them to lose contact. The left does it a lot and the right is now and then. It started happening recently after I had been using the joycons in the grip more than usual. Any ideas how to fix this? Maybe it's just old stretched plastic on the joycon. But I'd like some suggestions before I buy new joycons.

Edit. I tested them in the charging grip I have and wouldnt you know it, I can see it disconnect from the charging if I wobble it now. Is there a real fix for this? Not sure if it's just the lock clip or the plastic on the joycon.
