These images show configuration files and even the same roms inside the game, running on PC:

replied to the wrong thread before, but the message is the same:

What's there to figure out though? Couldn't we just exchange "rom:/MarioSunshine/Super_Mario_Sunshine_Stardust-trimmed.gcm" with any other gamecube-.gcm rom?
Maybe prototype through LayeredFS and all that jazz.
I am very excited for the performance of other roms on this proprietary emulator.

I guess the only things that need to be considered are:
- Gamecube: Analog-triggers, maybe it's fixed like in Sunshine, "R" for half-pressed and "RZ" for full-press
- Wii: Check whether a non-port rom works out, also pay attention to how wiimote-nunchuck/classic controller is supported by certain games

Woow! This makes sense, considering that graphic-wise the games didn't seem to change when compared to the original releases. Except for the optimisation of the screen resolution to make it look better in the Switch.

So, in the end, we are really buying emulated games from Nintendo.

Isn't Super Mario All-Stars (25th Anniversary Edition) for the Wii an emulated rom too?

Has anyone tried to swap out the roms yet, or is that coming up next?

Just seeing the simple fact that the roms are hardcorded should mean we SHOULD be able to change out the roms.
Though strange how they're checking the hash aswell. Perhaps anti-modification, but that should (if it exists) be fairly simple to cut out.

Edit: I'm more glad that they're using an emulator, because it means that hacker/homebrew scene gets ahold of it too. No need to wait for someone to make one :rofl2::rofl2::rofl2:

That's what I'm waiting for. I'm having trouble unpacking my NCAs so I can't try myself

Give it time. If it works, or if it can be figured out, it won't take much time.

What a shame, Nintendo. They are actually roms/isos then I am not buying it at all!!!! I will be fine with those on my emulators instead. Shame on you, Nintendo. What a cheat!!!

Yeah, refuse to buy it and miss out on an item with a pretty much guaranteed increase in value for collectors. If this game stays limited , then a sealed copy might sell for over a hundred bucks or more in a few years.

I'm not gonna let that chance slip just because it's basically just a package of roms and emulators.

If those emulators turn out to be injectable, Nintendo would have given the scene a nice present, actually. And even if not: The games do work as advertised. If people already decided to get the collection despite the lack of extra content, the games being run on emulators won't have much of an impact on that decision.

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze

    Booo.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's dumb
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Maybe.

There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.

Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
