Hello everyone. Recently I tried dual booting windows and android. For about a day it worked. But then windows disappeared and the only boot option is android. I have tried advanced boot options and booting windows from usb. The computer won't even show the usb as an option. I also tried changing the boot order and that didn't work. Please tell me if this is in the wrong spot. Thanks.

Provided you're using GRUB as the bootloader, you should be able to run this and rebuild its configuration to detect your Windows partition.
Code:
sudo grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub.cfg
Sorry for such a late response. I hadn't seen this until the person above bumped the thread. You may also need to recreate your bootable USB depending on what you used. On most Linux distributions, WoeUSB is recommended, and for Windows, Rufus is recommended. YUMI is another good option, especially if you want to setup a USB drive with multiple systems. It uses GRUB to directly chainload the system's disc image instead of going the traditional route of installing the image to the drive.
What is this?
The boot order is the order of interfaces a PC can boot from after passing POST. The hard drive is typically the first in the list, but it can be changed within the BIOS to either boot from a USB device or from a network hosted system image.

I was asking him what the boot sequence was set to. Is the first boot device a boot disk?Generally speaking, if the boot disk is set as the first boot device, if the computer still cannot be started, it means that there is a problem with the boot disk, and it may not work.

iirc, there are two types of boot order: uefi or legacy. you can also boot directly into usb or a cd btw without changing boot order. it's one of the function buttons at boot. anyway, I'd suggest putting windows on a disc or a flash drive and consider reformatting as a last resort. I have two discs with windows and a usb flash drive with windows. I also have four copies of my hdd's disk image in case I were to get a virus or if something were to go wrong. I don't have it set up automatically in case the problem carries over. I just backup a new disk image every few weeks.

Sorry, your question was very ambiguous, so I thought you were asking what the boot order was specifically for.

You will need to give everyone a lot more information. What sort of motherboard is it? Is it a desktop or laptop? What version of Windows were you running?
Post a few screens of your boot order options and PCIe devices including ssd and hdds are they being detected by your bios?

Usually in this case, create a new Windows bootable disk, and then reboot Windows computer.
