I often buy eshop games, but i want the benefits of homebrew such as: Modding games, custom themes, etc. So should I mod or not? PS: I dont have switch online.
You should hack your Switch if those things are worth it to you.

Is there any alternative to "Switch Backup Manager" by gibaBR? Hasn't been updated in over a year and doesn't seem to pull info anymore.
What are you wanting to do specifically?

I have been away from my cfw switch for a while. I am currently running 9.0.1 and just upgraded to AMS 0.14.2. New game that I am looking to install seems to require a newer firmware. "Key generation mismatch(console's firmware is too low)".

What is the best way to go about upgrading the fw, and which fw to go to?

Sorry, a little timid as I seem to have forgotten how it all works together.
Use Daybreak to update to 10.1.0. Make sure your signature patches are also up to date.

Thanks for the response. So Daybreak over ChoiDujour? That seems to have come up several times when googling.

ChoiDujourNX was the way to go before Daybreak was released. However, Daybreak is much safer, and it's recommended instead of ChoiDujourNX.

I wanted to update atmosphere and my firmware (for 3D All-Stars this Friday) so I added in the new files, I placed the newest atmosphere files on my sd card and placed the newest fusee-primary in my RCM one injector and also tried TegraRcmGUI(v2.6)

It showed the Sept logo then the Atmosphere logo, afterward the screen turned black and turned off? I am unsure of what to do.

I used to use Hekate and Kosmos with EmuNand, which I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it, it's been months since I updated atmosphere.

Thank you for any and all help for my noob self :)

Is there a way to still get eshop games with a banned switch
You can use a Tinfoil shop like HBG to download and install games, updates, and DLC to your Switch, regardless of whether or not it's banned.

If you're using an emuMMC, do the following:
  1. Make sure the SD card is FAT32.
  2. Remove all CFW files/folders from your SD card (that would be folders like /sept/ and /atmosphere/)
  3. Download the latest Atmosphere
  4. Download the latest fusee-primary (next to Atmosphere)
  5. Download these signature patches (for Atmosphere v0.14.2)
  6. Put Atmosphere and the signature patches onto your SD card
  7. Set "emummc!enabled = 1" in emummc/emummc.ini
  8. (If not on 10.1.0 on your emuMMC) Download the 10.1.0 update and put the 10.1.0 folder onto the root of your SD card. Make sure the update is Daybreak compatible.
  9. Put the SD into your Switch
  10. Enter RCM
  11. Launch Atmosphere using fusee-primary
  12. Check that you've booted into your emuMMC
  13. (If not on 10.1.0 on your emuMMC) If you're in your emuMMC, open the Homebrew Launcher, preferably using title override (R on a game instead of using the photo album)
  14. (If not on 10.1.0 on your emuMMC) Boot Daybreak
  15. (If not on 10.1.0 on your emuMMC) Select the 10.1.0 update. Choose the 10.1.0 exFAT option, even though you're using FAT32.

I did the following, I got past the black screen, but it booted me to my SysNand instead of my EmuNand, any idea where I messed up? Step 7?

You either don't have an emuMMC, or you messed up around Step 7. Out of curiosity, is there a reason you're using an emuMMC? Unless you are playing legitimately purchased games online using your clean sysMMC, you probably have no need for an emuMMC.

I just heard it was safer that way, I think it was backups in case my switch gets bricked? I'm not too sure, to be honest, and I already have games downloaded and saves on an emuMMC.

Thank you so much for your help

If you're not using online play, I'd transfer the emuMMC to the sysMMC.

So I wanted to get cfw atmosphere and jailbreak my switch for the first time. First I formatted my SD card to fat32. Then I placed the latest atmosphere files on my sd card, removed it & put the SD card in switch. Next I placed the newest fusee-primary in TegraRcmGUI(v2.6). Connected my switch to my computer & put in in RCM mode. Now my problem is every time I inject the payload the tegragui freezes/crash & then I have to force close it & try again with the same results.

I am new to this & not sure what else to do.

Will patched Switches ever be hackable?
A patched Switch on 4.1.0 is already hackable if it has never connected to the internet.

All other patched systems are hackable with a TX modchip. This may be the only way to hack these systems for a very long time.

Hello,
I have a patched v1 Sx Core Switch and I wondered if I can run rcm payloads on it at the moment??
(Btw this is my 2nd post of the same question since I thought it wasn't seen, really sorry if seen and didn't answer intentially)

I am on latest firmware, 10.1.0. Are there any news at all on a softmod for patched 10.1.0 switch?
Nobody knows the future, but it's possible 10.1.0 will never receive a softmod on a patched system. For now, patched systems on 10.1.0 require a TX modchip.

What are you wanting to do specifically?

It helps organize your backups, rename them in a format you prefer, etc.
I mainly need it because I have no idea what versions these files are and the "v0, v65536," etc version number naming scheme Nintendo uses is bunk.
