I wouldn't say "safe" per se; just a lower risk if you only modify saves. As long as you cfw and go online, you have a chance to be banned, but if you don't care about multiplayer (that's probably most people because Switch multiplayer sucks) and are aware of the risks, it's all good!

Yeah, agreed on the multiplayer. I don't really care for the options (even with the local/free multiplayer, I don't find myself playing those much).

Oh ok, good to know. Maybe I will just stick with using sdsetup then for updating like I did back when Kosmos was still active.

Yeah, just go with the Minimal option, in that case. You should be good. Goldleaf doesn't update very often, but in the event that it does, SDSetup should be catch up with that as well.

Hi guys,

I have install atmosphere on EmuNAND, did a backup of my SysNAND and modified my serial number with exosphere. I have seen somewhere that we need to backup our keys with Lockpick. Is this still actual ? After I will set Incognito through Tinfoil.

Furthermore, is this usefull to use 90DNS ?

After this, would I be Ok by using wifi on EmuNAND ? (through Homebrews)

Thank you in advance :)

It is not mandatory to dump your keys with Lockpick. In general, its not necessary to do things you don't know the purpose. For example, it is highly recommended to dump your NAND because these can be used to recover from a brick. However if you don't know the value in dumping keys, then its not that useful to dump them especially since all but the BIS keys can just be obtained online. I also recommend using 90DNS over Incognito as 90DNS can be toggled much easier and doesn't require CFW unlike Incognito. Although if you already modified your serial number with Exosphere, then using either 90DNS or Incognito is overkill.

Using 90DNS or Incognito won't change anything about a potential ban ? I mean, 90DNS blocks every Nintendo request if I have understood right... Is not more security better than not enough?

No, what Drax is saying that you've already done more than what 90DNS can offer, by modifying your device's serial number. Theoretically, it's safe(-r, compared to 90DNS) and is just a "do once and forget about it" kind of deal.

Ugh Persona 5 Scamble used to work fine for me but now on Atmosphere 0.14.1 (from sdsetup) plus the hekate sigpatches and OFW updated to 10.1.0 I get a "The software was closed because an error occured" message when I try to launch it. Only game that does this. Uninstalled, reinstalled without applying updates, tried updated to 1.03, tried without the update, with DLC, without DLC, and same thing every time. Always checks out as clean when I do the "Checking for corrupted data" check

If your system version is on 1.0.0, 2.0.0-3.0.0, or 4.0.1-4.1.0, then you can already load CFW without a jig, etc.

If your Switch is RCM vulnerable, you only need a jig once (a paperclip works nicely if bent properly). After that, you can install AutoRCM, and you won't need a jig ever again. You will still need a way to send an RCM payload to the Switch when coldbooting it, however. This can be mitigated by leaving it in sleep mode and docked when not using it (after sending a payload once to boot it into CFW). I honestly don't remember the last time I sent a payload to my Switch over USB. It was probably a year ago.

Aside from the RCM exploit and the above system versions, you cannot hack a Switch without a TX modchip. Other hacks may not be released for a long time, if ever. I wouldn't hold your breath waiting. I'd recommend hacking your Switch sooner rather than later so you can enjoy it.

Thank you for the info, I guess I have a weekend project ahead of me.

Where and when did you download the Hekate patches from?

How d
Where and when did you download the Hekate patches from?

Got them from here this morning:

https://gbatemp.net/threads/sigpatches-for-atmosphere-hekate-fss0-fusee-secondary-only.571543/

Today I installed AMS 0.14.1 from sdsetup, and pushed the newest hekate payload and then from Hekate chose that normal Boot to CFW (never did emuNAND on the system)

Hekate boots fusee-secondary by default, doesn't it? Or is there an easy way to check which it's booting? Persona 5 Scramble is the only game this does this on. I have removed the ticket through Goldleaf and reinstalled and that didn't fix it either.

How could I be able to not inject a payload with a computer everytime I turn the switch off / reboot it? also how could I set up two emummc's so I can play online and have homebrew on the other one?

Either use your phone/tablet with Rekado, or buy a dongle like the NX-Atmosphere or RCMloader ONE. As for the latter question, no idea.

Greetings! I've got 2 questions

1: I've recently been playing Animal Crossing New Horizons on my CFW Switch. i really ended up liking it and may buy it on the future once i have the money for it. my question was that, once bought, do i have to delete all the progress made in my CFW copy in order to use the Online Features?

2: Lets say i open an ORIGINAL game i have either bought on eshop or in cartridge in the CFW mode, i advance in my save file and stop playing. can that affect the console in some way when i end up playing on the normal console firmware?

in advance, thank you for taking the time to read and answer

  1. No because the save file is tied to your console not the game
  2. See number 1

Hello,
I have a patched v1 Sx Core Switch and I wondered if I can run rcm payloads on it at the moment??

Last edited by GCS,
I have been away from my cfw switch for a while. I am currently running 9.0.1 and just upgraded to AMS 0.14.2. New game that I am looking to install seems to require a newer firmware. "Key generation mismatch(console's firmware is too low)".

What is the best way to go about upgrading the fw, and which fw to go to?

Sorry, a little timid as I seem to have forgotten how it all works together.
