My problem is that my Wii outputs a picture either wird diagonal lines or horizontal lines which are very noticeable. Ive tried the original component cable, AV cable and 2 hdmi adapters. Could it be that the output on the wii is broken? Shall I buy a replacement motherboard?

The cheap hdmi converters are about as bad as the built in up-scaling of modern TVs. Manufacturers have no interest in supporting analog video anymore, so the only do the bare minimum. Your best bet is to get a wiiU and use that. Failing that, get an OLD tv. I had a Philips plasma that gave an excellent picture from analog sources, the up-scaling was nearest-neighbour so it retained the pixel clarity and my Wii though a component cable was absolutely perfect.

Unless you want to spend $200 or more on an up-scaler, then you're stuck with a poor picture, we all are.

clean the output port with contact spray. WD40 makes some pretty good contact spray with a nice thin straw to get in ports like that well. If that doesn't work you don't need an entirely new wii just reflow the joints on the connector. Unless you see obvious physical damage this should be repairable.
