after seeing your work, I finally decide to cut the shield part off, and the back cover is back to normal again, this feels nice

I hated how the back looks with this bent backplate, you do not even need a dremel or something to cut the metal shield.

Hello all. I recently received my switch back in the mail from a previously verified installed here in this thread that no longer is performing service. I received my lite back with no modification. My Lite is missing a couple of caps on the cpu due to a botched install attempt by myself, does anyone have any recommended US based verified sources for hardware repair at this level?

installing the SX lite at this point is a hefty bonus but I was really hoping to attempt to bring it back to life.

Sorry if it’s been asked before but there are so many pages to go through.

So i will say is not fake but can by foulty.
Also check if you have 2 partions on sd card in computer management/disk management, and try another micro sd card, i had a toshiba card not working on a v2 but working in a v1 unpached and a pny 512 with problems and rma.

Dude, my pny pro elite 512gb took a crap on me the other day too and just failed. Nothing was recognizing it so I did rma. If it happened to you with the same card, maybe the card is prone to fail on the switch or something.

I tested kingston canvas select, samsung evo plus, sandisk ultra with no problems, @Emeraldu know if after rma the Pny 512 card is working properly now, maybe is a compatibilty problem with some cards.

Theres a couple of amazon reviews that say the same thing about the card. They sometimes fail on v2 and switch lite. Mine was working fine for a couple of months then died on me so now they're sending me another one. I'll just have to back up everything in case it happens again after a couple of months. The only good thing pny has is lifetime warranty so they better keep sending them if they keep failing. No way of getting refund.

Maybe if Team xecuter had tought in a solderless way to do this , it would be easier and more people would be modding ,, but havin to purchase jewler glassess to do an install .
Here at least theres no interest whatsoever you can get new switch for mod with pro dongle , and a lot of people sell used and unused units trough facebook market and mercadolibre ( its like amazon and ebay together )

Around here in egypt i charge around 90 including the chip and people are seeing this as expensive

ill just finish my dozen chips that are left and will call it quits wont bother to invest further honestly
We have no ninjas here, and pretty much modding is legal around here no one cares but the chip and install price doesnt make sense to alot of users around here

And i belive another solution will come just not now, as when they first announced it, it was mentioned that there will be a solderless option, i belive at least for the core thats possible, unless something went south

Re solderless...I only remember them (maybe not even TX, it was just the chatter by everyone else) saying it was probably possible but not recommended as it's a mobile console and wouldn't be very reliable. Any knock could dislodge pins etc.
Even solutions from generations past with points 50x bigger than those on the switch could shift and not work very well.

Or did some people think solderless meant dongle?

It works perfectly. The outer shell of the microSD is poor quality and can wear and tear faster than other SD card brands. So I wont remove it from my console unless I really don't have any choice.

I received my replacement yesterday and the shell looks thicker than my old one that messed up. It also appears to be coated because I can't remove it from sd card slot on switch. I have to use a tweezer but I'm not going to take it out any more.
