I am currrently working on a battle app. I have been using nfc cards to do the work and just writing on it in marker... These designs looks great ill use these for now. Guess ill have to out source when we push it to a potential release considering nintendo wouldn't be happy if I used there artwork XD

Thanks for the tips, if it's such a problem though you should look at the plastic nfc cards you can get printer for them at around $400 though... but yeah with all the money you spent on ink, printers and paper it might have been near enough the same! :D

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

All you need to get started is NFC tags. You can buy them online, amazon, ebay. You need NTAG215. Not ntag 213. Then you need an android device, phone or tablet that scans NFC tags. Google will tell you. Then you need the app to create these tags. There are guides all over good luck!

Thanks I have checked eBay and ordered some should be here in a few days. I ordered the NTAG215 ones they sound kinda small but im sure they will work fine right? I don't think the size matters. Just need to get the phone now might pop out today and find one.

Hi just a quick question but what size resolution would these be best at. Should i go with the size normal amiibo cards are? will they print in high resolution. Sorry for the questions im just thinking about making some for a gift for my wife for the holidays. Good to get started early right ? :D

I am new to the photoshop world and i gotta say it's a long way away from paint! I know this was supposed to be for the other users but boy have you help me out. I might even edit some of these cards and put my partners name on one :D

You will want to print these at 100% scale. IE dont have your printer scale or stretch them. Also if you do a print preview and notice they look huge, try making sure the document is set to 300 dpi. I wrote a guide on how to layout the images and have your printer print them properly. It was written with my card sizes in mind though (with the extra bleed sections that are meant to be cut off) but you can try and use it for other cards as well)

I've added designs for a the rest of the fighters that have been released so far. I obviously don't own the rights to these images or characters, so you don't need to ask me permission to use them. See my past post for the rest of them.

Are you considering making ones for Ken and the rest of the DLC? I love your designs.

to be clear... i only considered it rude because you're asking people to do work for free on something that is mostly off topic for this thread. This is a thread about making amiibo cards those are similar but are not the same and were created for a completely different function. So in other words whoever sits down and makes them for you would be making them specifically for you... and would have to continue to make them for you as long as Nintendo makes more smash amiibo. Sure there may be some people that could find them useful in here, but again its completely off topic for the thread. And as you said a template already exists for you to use, made by the person who made the other images you are already using, what more could you ask for? The skills required to edit the template should be mostly trivial and at most would take you all of a few hours of watching basic tutorials and fiddling around yourself to figure out... assuming the guy made the template at all competently. And then you would have the skills to make more as new amiibo are released without having to ask people to do work for you for free. For me anyway, it has nothing to do with having some pride over a style or whatever.

Also, there may be someone that wants to do you a favor and make those for you... thats fine. Its certainly possible you could find someone willing. All Im saying is that it was rude of you to ask for it when you have everything you need to make them yourself if you put in a little effort.

Here is an analog to what you asked: "I have had a butler who used to cut my steak and feed it to me piece by piece but now he no longer wants to work for me. He gave me the fork and knife and told me how to cut the steak but I dont understand his instructions. If there are any butchers in here can you take some time out of your day and come cut my steak and feed it to me?".

That might be putting it a little too bluntly but thats how it came off, and why I considered it rude. I also get that there is some irony that this post is itself rude, which is why I originally didnt post an explanation but I dont want people thinking it was because of some weird issue with pride over different styles. (its not really even a different style from anything else posted)

Wow. I typically lurk, but I feel the need to post to say that this is one of the most cogent, level-headed, articulate, and informatively assistive posts I have come across. Well thought out, non-emotional, and pleasantly stated. Nice.

Ok... moving along now.

I had it, but I've updated the background adding the map instead.
Edit: Now you can found them again ;)

How did you guys print these on a PVC card and get a good card?
I bought the TS8120 printer and printed some of these and the quality is 10/10 but the card is sticky and scratches super easily
I don't get why its super sticky but its so annoying. Any time I try to tap the card to play BOTW, the cards stick to my hand

Any help would be appreciated

That seems to be the case for the ink jet cards. Pretty sure it’s sticky so the ink can absorb into the card. You could try spraying a light coat of satin finish onto it. I’d test it out on one card first though. And do it in light coats otherwise the ink might run. Just a suggestion.

I used those. Kind of tricky to install, but once you get the hang of it they look great.

Which Thermal printer did you end up using?
I see Series 1 and Series 3 but they're SO expensive

If I want to make all 400some Animal Crossing cards, + BOTW + SSBU and then just sell the printer on Amazon at about a 20%-30% discount, that shouldn't cost TOO much and should still only cost me about a dollar per card on average if I order the PVC ones from AliExpress

Found one called the Magicard Pronto ID Card Printer on Amazon for $1400 CAD which is a lot cheaper than the Zebra at $2000 CAD. Just don't know if it will work well
