And i'm back with another wii-related thread. This time around, i have an issue. Recently bought my very first GC game (Sonic Adventure 2 battle) and just when i thought i was finally gonna experience this game, i put it in and few seconds later, it comes back out. Didn't even seem to read it.

I took a look under the hood to hopefully better understand what's happening and the disc goes in, doesn't spin, and gets ejected. Wii discs on the other hand work perfectly fine.

I have an og white model wii with controller ports and mem cards, does have homebrew, and the disc drive has been replaced before. All help is appreciated!

Is the disc in usable condition.

Get CleanRip and see if it can dump the game.

Or get Nintendont and find SA2 image somewhere.

Has a few minor scratches but seems usable. The problem is that the system doesn't read or even spin the disc and just auto-ejects after. I'll save Nintendont as a last resort, but would like to play the disc.

I was having this same problem with Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, so I read your post a couple months ago and thought maybe it was the game. However, it turned out my Wii also had its drive replaced. The replacement drive was originally from a "Family Wii" -- a later model Wii that is not compatible with GameCube games. There is a tutorial somewhere about modifying these later model drives to read GameCube discs by cutting some plastic. For me, it was just easier to find another Wii.

It's been awhile and seeing this is still getting posts, i might as well give some closure. A couple months back, i got my wii to read and play Gamecube discs. Yay!

The disc drive that i was using showed a few differences compared to the OG drive that came with my wii all those years ago so it must have been for later model wiis or the wii mini. I ended up just buying a new drive that specifically said it's for RVL-001 models and that solved the problem.

I only have a minor issue where sometimes the memory card i use isn't detected or read but found viewing it in Data Management before playing eliminates that.

All of you, thanks for the help and tips. I'm having fun with SA2B and am also cracking my skull open in THPS3. :)
