How would I go about adding the HD Mario model to the switch version?
https://sm64pc.info/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3

I’ve never compiled anything before.

EDIT: I just read on the JITS discord that the upcoming v7 will introduce customizable/swappable texture packs.

so I’ll just wait for that instead of trying to do it myself.

Hi. Would you mind sending me an invite to the JITS discord server?

Thanks.

I hate to burst your bubble but I have fond with jits/tinfoil even though it says SM64 version says 5,6 or 7 etc.. it always installs version 1 I ended up making my own copy. I'm not sure if there is a way to select different versions in the menu and install maybe you can?

Move JITS to first on the sources list and it will use the latest (V6) instead of V1/V3

Edit: I get you now you mean just use jits as the only source and it will install the latest version thanks I will try that. I’ve always used tinfoil with several shops at the same time that’s the problem I never gave that a thought, it’s installing version 1 from another source.

Wow if the scene remaster textures and 3D models then we will soon have a complete scene made HD remaster.
Would be cool if some attention was made to lighting and post processing FX as well.
But I guess I'm getting a bit greedy

Hd mario looks insane

You're telling me lol

No need, you can play Mario 64 via retroarch flawless. Full Speed, Full Screen :)

Edit: funny you have just suggested this but I’ve just had a pop up from discord, it seems someone has released a Mario 64 full version for the switch it must be on the internet somewhere.
V6 of nsp has disable draw distance. In others words, no more pop up.

I'm at 50 stars mark, and the game is running almost perfectly. V6 was released this week and they even managed to add higher res textures, besides the usual 60 FPS and longer draw-distance.

Some bugs from previous versions like Bully the Bullies star on Lethal Lava Land not being obtainable and Bowser freezing at its jumping animation were finally fixed too.

Overall awesome port.

I’ve already got version 6 I did it a while ago, it comes with the HQ resolution pack & 60fps yes it looks and plays great. I just wanted an easier way of installing new versions in future instead of making them myself.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Is that playing on the Switch?
Yes that’s exactly what it looks like in version 6 on the switch actually that video doesn’t do it full justice, it does look really amazing and plays much better.

no it wasn't running on the switch, it was running pc, and second there is no method like that. the best thing would be to make a script for easy updating and compilation

Have you tested the latest version on the switch to see for yourself? it has got the high resolution pack in it and runs at 60fps it looks exactly like that.
