Hi everyone. I just found an issue in my new EZ Flash Junior, and just wanted to ask if someone else has the same issue or it's just a problem-deffect of my flashcart. In any Pokemon RTC based game (Tested with several roms and several languages of Gold, Silver and Crystal) the RTC ingame is actually working fine, but after 40 seconds to 1 minute, the time changes about 8 hrs and the date moves like 5 days or so (Example: Tuesday 10 AM jumps to Sunday 6 PM), then, after another 15-20 seconds of this new time-date, the clock gets back to the correct time-date. And it continues in this loop all the time.
-In the EZ Flash Jr main menu, the time is always correct, and it saves correctly.
-The battery of the EZ Flash Jr is like new (3.04V Tested).
-Tested with several English Roms from different sources and some Spanish ones.
-Tested in 8gb Sandisk microSD and 16gb AData microSD.
-Version FW4 K1.04e (Now also tested with FW3 K1.03e and FW5 K1.05e but it's worse).
Thanks in advance for your attention. Regards.
fixed the issue on #163, need more test report.
note: since kernel 1.05, we append the rtc data into save file. so please do not mess the save file created by diffrent kernel version if you switching kernel frequently.
I understand the concern behind this, appending the data to the save can potentially cause incompatibilities. Would it be reasonably possible to instead save the additional data in a separate file (romname.rtc for example)?I am generally wary of appending data to saves, or extra header/footers. That said easy enough to remove things to flash saves back to retail carts, flash carts or use with strict emulators.
What r these "HuC3" games got a list?I was wondering if in a future release, the HuC3 mapper will be added?
it's a known issue. we are working on it.
I just tested again the Pokemon RTC games with the new update 5-27 and at first glance the RTC was working way better in all of them, but when you have to save, turn off - reset the console and try to play again, sometimes:
-The game asks you to set the time again
-The console changes randomly the date-time
-Depending on the game, sometimes the time will not move at all while you’re not in game
-Everything works well (not so often)
I tried a lot of methods of save-reload to even conclude some weird behaviors, for example, sometimes if the game asks you to set the time again, you can reset - turn off/on the console, discard the save backup, load again the game, and sometimes, the correct time-date will reconfigure by itself.
Other is that sometimes in a game reload if the game changes randomly the time-date in the main menu before loading the game completely, you can reset-turn off/on the console, now save the "save backup" and then reload the game, this way sometimes it will give you the option set again the time-date.
Test games:
Silver Eng, Silver Eng (different source), Gold Spa, Crystal Eng and Gold Eng.
Crystal Eng was the one with the best behavior, but after some gameplay the RTC just breaks like the others.
On a fresh load with no save, every game in this list works like a charm, the RTC works perfectly, It is when you save, that the RTC stops working properly.
The more you save, the more chances you get that the RTC breaks, even the solutions that I mentioned, once you saved several times, they stop working.
I hope that info helps, and again, thanks for all the hard work! Regards
But did you delete ALL the save files before updating to the new firmware?

Yes, Crystal is the one the usually works better, but once I start to do several saves, weird things start to happen. Another mate from another forum confirms me this issue but not that often as it happen to me. So maybe my cartridge is defective :s , but that will be very weird, because almost all the other issues that other people have with other games or microsd's, in mine everything works just fine.Issue seems to be almost fixed, though saving still skips 30-60 seconds, unable to reproduce the issues with crystal RetroKarl mentioned. Time seems to track fine playing and saving in gold/silver/crystal.
Hi SabataLunar, FW5 Kernel 1.05 here, Game And Watch Gallery 1 for the GB is creating the save file and saving correctly. Maybe is an issue with your rom. Try to use a clean rom that never was used on another emulator-flashcart. Regards.Hey, just had an issue with Game And Watch Gallery 1, where nothing would save. Replacing the save with one made in an emulator seems to have worked, and the game saves normally now, but could you look into this more? It might affect more games.
Gold USA: (#SAVE) 1: Ok, 2: Ok, 3: Ok, 4: Bad (asks to set time, so I reset without saving and the time gets correct), 5: Ok, 6: Ok, 7: Ok, 8: Ok, 9: Bad (asks to set time, so I reset without saving and the time gets correct), 10: Ok. (Then I play another Pkmn title for 15 mins and get back), 11: Bad (Time jumps and never gets back to the correct one)
Silver USA: (#SAVE) 1: Ok, 2: Bad (time moves down 4 minutes, and gets completely freezes, eventually asks t
In all my tests I found that is way better to "turn off/on" than using the reset button of the cartridge. But the issues still exist in both ways. Now in "5-27 test" the most common issues in order are:what if power recycle instead push reset button? issues still exist?
