Just go with normal cpu termal paste. Noctua is one of the best brands. These 8.0 W/mk stats often doesent mean much
Pretty much this. Nintendo is using toothpaste.

I removed the shielding in my lite, and even with just decent thermal paste (I think it was thermal take paste) the fan ramps up less often than stock.

Just the cooling on stock (and the shield tv), it's a heatpipe, fins, and a very small fan. A whole lot isn't needed to keep the chip cool.

Hello people,

Quick off-topic, I have a 5.6 W/mk thermal paste. Is it enough for the Nintedo Switch V2 or should i go with something 8.0 W/mk and above?

Thank you.

The 20nm Tegra X1 on the original Switch is a 15W TDP part, and already ran way below that. The 16nm X1 on the Lite and "V2" fat runs even cooler. Your 5.6W/mK one will work perfectly well, provided it's electrically non-conductive and is applied properly.

My thermal is non-conductive and should work fine then.

And yeah should have done some research on the thermal power of the Tegras.

Sorry for if i wasted your time and thank you guys very much for the answers. @Theroid @hartleyshc @MrSandstorm

Not a waste of time. You asked a perfectly valid question. Hope I could help.

The only thing he did quite well was pretining the contacts.. this is in my opinion the best method to solder the resistors and ground

He pretined the top, which I guess works but isnt the ribbon placed over the resistors so it should be connected on the back? Little difficult to see exactly what is supposed to be connected.

Its actually quite simple, Bridge connection at each end of resistor where qsb meets.

soooo anyone know where we are gonna be able to reliably buy an sx lite/pro?

Most resellers are still taking orders though they took down their main domains, changed the names and sent out e-mails with instructions on how to continue ordering for obvious reasons, keep in mind you'll have to pay express shipping out of china if you want it without waiting 3-4 weeks or longer since there will be no US stock for a long while I'd think.

is that a question or are you stating you actually have heard of bricks already
Bricks have been reported among a few testers in the private TX forum, but just because the testers tried to use tools that mess with the internals of the console and were not written for Mariko and Lite, such as ChoiDuJour or Lockpick.

The bad news is that bricks on Mariko and Lite seem to be irreversible (at least by now).

Yeah I dont see why they cant restore from a brick if the modchip overriding the bootloader anyway.

Better hope they somehow got a nand backup tho

So unless developers want to support sxos or sxos themselfs start updating the tools no hombrew for patched units or just wait a couple of months-year for the clones to come up with official support of atmos

do we know how this thing even works yet? is a it timing attack or is it using the old RCM exploit?
or is it something else entirely?

Is the original storage of the switch unusable after modding? Its socket is now used by the modxhip, right?

¿¿¿???

The modchip goes there to "intercept" the data.. but you keep using the original nandflash chip, but it'0s connected to other place

I wouldn't ask for Express shipping because of the customs

I wouldn't even blink before making a full nand backup with their md5 and five copies of it
