I'm not sure but maybe you can inyect atmos software to load atmos software.

In my opinion for the early users maybe is best to stick to gaming and emulation, not other kind of administration tools until everything is tested

I asked them and they haven't received the chips for the time being.. so patience.. another stopper might be everything is messed up with covid stuff and it may take longer than expected

    Hello, dear customer,
At present, we have not received any news from the TX team. But the delivery time may around the end of May or in the early of the June. Once we get the SX Core and SX Lite in stock , we will ship your parcel out asap. Please wait with patiently.
    Thanks for your understanding!

The bricks will happen unless the software starts locking out options like Choi.

Here in Spain, at least, standard economic shipping hardly ever they packages are stopped, unless they are very heavy or very voluminous.. but I always heard that with these big shipping companies such as DHL, UPS, Nacex, Seur, etc... the packages always pass through customs

Sorry I don't know what Choi is... I'm completely new in switch homebrew.. I have a mariko and this is my first time with switch homebrew.

But I understood whereas you can inyect some payload you can enter in different kind of software. Maybe I'm wrong of course

Another video showing the installation on a lite. Shows much better the process than the other and only video available (till now) of Sx lite.

    Just uploaded now

He says that the first 3 times, the switch took a while to connect (to the chip). The chip checks the installation and adapts to the circuit of the console. If everything is alright, a green light will emit

The first thing he says in the video is that it's not meant as a tutorial but just to show how the installation works overall.

He used a simple soldering iron with a standard, oversized conical tip and no temperature adjustment, solder wire that's over 2x the size of the contacts, sprayed flux all over the board and then "painted" the contacts with a blob of solder hanging from the tip of the iron.

The guy did a lot of the stuff you're NOT supposed to do when soldering and got away with it, so I guess it goes to show the sx lite is not as impossible to install as some people supposed it would be.

Also, about that white thermal paste he applied to the CPU, I'm pretty sure that's "Implastec". It's a VERY cheap thermal compound that's easilly found on electronic components stores here in Brazil. It's thermal conductivity is less than 1W/mK and it's meant for stuff like going between a through-hole voltage regulator and a heatsink, definitely not for CPUs. So if anyone is still worried about what thermal paste to use, if he can get away with using THE cheapest stuff he could possibly find, you'll be perfectly fine with anything that's halfway decent.

There's one thing I can't understand... what happen with that thumb?

The video's thumbnail? A lot of bad taste with access to Photoshop, I guess

    Oh, no idea then.

I watched the video without skipping now, and he actually shows the thermal paste. It's indeed what I thought it was and he even says he knows it's crap but had it lying around, and that he intends to replace it with something decent later.

An open implementation wouldn't be any different soldering wise.

Even when it does it'll probably require soldering too. If you're not comfortable with doing it yourself, you could either look for someone experienced to do it for you, or wait for a software-only exploit to come out in the (probably not near) future.

no way of knowing if he actually got away with it till a few months from now
if that thing overheats and melts away the solder used to put in the TX lite chip and he can;t boot then i guess he will know
