Hello every one, I wanted to know
Is it possible to use more than one mod for the same game at the same time?
For example I saw two mods for pokemon on the forum, one mod that enhance difficulty ('sacred sword') and another that change the encounter rate , do you know if it is possible to use both at the same time?
And do you know if it is possible to desactivate them and play the 'vanilla' game with the gamesave of the modded game?
Thanks!

Can't you just... you know... just paste them and that's it?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

it's like asking how can you have two movies in one folder.
Until no files will be colliding, they can exist at the same time.

You mean just try using both? I can't for now thats why Im asking, but you mean that their is no 'rule' and the best way to know is to try and see?

(Sorry if the question sound stupid I don't know much about modding)

Yes. If in both mods there are no files with the same name in the same folder path, then they should work both at the same time.

There are two main types of conflict when stacking/nesting patches.

1) They try to use the same space in the game, be it original space or extra space carved out by the hackers to do their hacks in if it needed more space.
2) They alter the same thing. This can also include when they don't appear to collide in 1) -- you edit the font in one hack and have another font hack as well but it sends the font to another area and edits that instead then one of those is not going to do much.

Save games usually transfer over, though some hackers will block it and if you are doing a translation hack then that is a different matter.

If you are using one of the file replacement methods available on some newer consoles (on older stuff it all tends to be patched beforehand and have the whole new ROM sent, and even if not there are easier ways to do things). In such cases where the same file is altered then the above stuff is still in play but you might be able to generate a combined patch for it.
Also on newer consoles we have seen some hacks rebuild the ROM and patch accordingly. In those cases it will make patches harder to stack as things are not where one of the patches likely expects them to be. In that case you would have to patch the ROM twice (making two different patched ROMs), pull them apart and merge the files accordingly.

Playing ACNH with 3 different mods - one to increase stack, one to have an ATM machine in airport, and one to have a Racoon mafia member with me on mystery islands.
